The app allows each foe and adversary to have unique battle cards. I don't think I'd want to store, manage, and pay more for the game to have say and extra 100 or more cards. Imagine the rules... you have to stop every time a foe increases in strength to update the combat deck. It's been years and the game has actually had reviewers increase their original score of the game. If it's a no brainer for everything but that aspect I don't think it is going to stop you from enjoying it.↧

I am on the fence too on this one... more than 1 year thinking to buy or not... what kills it for me is the extensive use of the app to resolve combats... If there were some other card/dice/etc. system I would buy it now...
If you are one of those folks that dislikes boardgames with apps, then I recommend you pass. I personally like them, but I know many don't and it's a valid opinion.

Thread: Thunder Road: Vendetta – Extra Ammo Mini-Expansion Pack:: General:: How are these meant to be used?
by Robandstuff
I was thinking about getting a set of these if I see them for sale during con season (seems like the only “expansion” for the game that’s available at all right now) but I was wondering how they’re supposed to be used. Are you meant to add one of the sets into any given game? All of them? Some subset?I couldn’t find any “rules” online - only the rules cards for each of the packs/sets. Thanks for any help

by Dorst
@vandiroe Has your question finally (officially) been answered somewhere? We had an similar situation like your‘s in August. We had already two objectives completed and realized that we will probably not be able to complete the infiltration objective, which was our third. We have already in the building and checked the necessary numbers. Only e few crads left on the player cards pile. We then decided intentionally to end the game by saying that the infiltration objective failes. Is this rules conform?

This game is so pleasingly designed. Like a simple cook book, take one Episode Box and one Elder One Box. Stir well, lay out and play. I love the contained aspect of this. No gathering or searching for other material.
As an inveterate solo player I try and bring the game to me. Meaning, I sit back on my bed tucked under a lap table holding a lazy Susan and one of a number of different sized toppers.
Most C:DMD scenarios fit a 30” x 20” topper. The smallish tiles that people complain about assist with this and on occasion I will have to tweak the setup to accommodate a slightly larger tile set. There is no way everything for most missions will fit on the board so I look for what I can place vertically. In this case, it’s the two player dashboards as seen in the pics, as well as the story boardboard that I mount on a stand to the side.
I use metal stands, marketed primarily as book ends, and 8”X11” metal sheets. You can easily attach the sheet to the stand to handle different configurations. I place a small iron bar on the base of the stand to secure it. I use magnets of different shapes and sizes to secure the material to the metal stand
The two deck holders you see hold a card deck at a convenient viewing angle and discards slide easily beneath the deck. You will see a small card holder centered between the two player boards to hold the revealed Mythos cards. This is one of the handy units from UberStax.
Finally, the tricking out of custom bits for doors, tunnels, fire and summoning tokens. The decision to choose between the simplicity of a two dimension map and the addition of props to create a third, can be a difficult one. It often comes down to the quality of the pieces, the ease of implementing them, and the effect they ultimately create.
I picked some interesting pieces up from Tim Howell at his Etsy hobby shop, BoardGameWow: https://boardgamewow.etsy.com/listing/1698638081. There are doors tunnels, gates, and more. Some have clever tiny LED lights that illuminate and vivify the thematic dimension. The three gates absolutely pop. The doors are simple and elegant - in fact, I use them with several other games with grids and minis.
See what you think.

Say no to alkaline.
Been working fine for multiple games. Have you had issues?
Alkaline batteries will eventually leak and corrode components, esp if left in a device that is not used for a long time. Could take years, or you could be lucky, etc. I lost a Nikon SB800 flash and a few kids’ toys to Duracell + Energiser batteries. I now always remove them from expensive hardware that doesn’t see regular use (such as polystone statues with light-up features).
Yes - if this happens, you can always try cleaning the corrosion with vinegar using an old toothbrush. I rescued my Canon flash with this very move. Doesn't always work, but worth a shot to try to save your electronics.
Have saved some electronics using acidic solutions (because battery leakage is alkaline) but not all.

Very nice, liking the paint jobs, and yes, Tim has created some very nice props (I'd say they rival anything I could print). What I really like is the idea to setup the previous mythos cards on a stand, genius, we are always pawing the discards to make sure of the count. I'll see what I can find on Thingiverse to print as a standee like that.↧

Thread: Thunder Road: Vendetta:: General:: Can this game be used to play classic Thunder Road?
by Hollyhock
Can "Thunder Road: Vendetta" components be used to play classic "Thunder Road"?Cars and helicopters already match.
Tiles don't seem to be the same size (Thunder Road ones are 13 squares long and Thunder Road Vendetta ones are 8 squares long). I wonder if you could make some fix or you would need to craft entirely new tiles to play the classic game.

Thank you all for your advice. To clarify, there *is* a Deep One in the slot, it's just a duplicate of the 003 and thus doesn't fit well into the formed plastic. I'll keep an eye out once Season 3/4 ships.↧

It could arrive slightly before that, but that is a safe bet.
Is the Maximum Chrome version going to be in decent supply from your store, or is it just any extras from the Kickstarter? Just checking because extras tend to go so quick that I doubt I'd know in time to get a copy.
Decent supply. We did a good-sized order.

We do not ship outside the US/Canada (though that remains something we continue to work on). There are a number of non-US retailers that backed the campaign that will have stock, and there should be some stock left over for distribution that will be available to non-US retailers that way as well.
