Nisam vozač, ne ložim se na aute, ni motore a kamoli na formule u stvarnom životu. Štoviše, radije bih okopao gredicu vrta nego gledao utrke formula na TV-u.

Ne znam niš o cincilatorima, gefufnama al me to nimalo ne sprečava da se totalno uživim (i uživam) u ulogu bogataša koji ne zna kud će s parama pa kupuje formule, kladi se na njih i vozi ih po stazama.

Jer to je ukratko, Downforce.

Kao prvo, igra je gigant. Zauzme svaki normalni stol gotovo u potpunosti (ploča za igru predstavlja naravno trkaću stazu i to od šest dijelova). Divna stvar je što je ploča za igru dvostrana pa imaš dvije staze.

Kao drugo, igra je beskrajno zabavna, čak i kad gubiš i kad si jadan do te mjere da ti formula nije u stanju stići do finiš linije. Proturječim li sam sebi? Naravno da ne; igra je zabavna jer je zabavna interakcija s drugim igračima (iliti ispravnije – igra je zabavna onoliko koliko je zabavna ekipa s kojom igraš) koje nagovaraš, moliš a ponekad i ucjenjuješ da shvate kako je baš tvoja formula (a ne njihova vlastita) ona na koju se trebaju kladiti tijekom utrke. I taman misliš u sebi da si ih uspio nagovorit, kad vidiš da su za klađenje odabrali neku sasvim treću formulu. Dušmani!

Kao treće, možeš pobijedit čak i kad nisi pobijedio!!! Jer igra nije kao što rekoh samo jurcanje, već je i klađenje ali i kupnja pa ako uštediš koji milijunčić na kupnji svog bolida, to može bit presudno za konačan ishod igre.

Umjesto zaključka: moja ekipa ima base game i dvije ekspanzije što znači da se utrkujemo na ukupno 6 staza. Svaka je drugačija i taktika koja sjajno ide na jednoj stazi, može bit totalna propast na drugoj.

Al baš na svakoj stazi guštamo!

THE GOOD
- I potpuni početnici (veliki i mali) skuže ovu igru dok veliš „Velika nagrada Gornje Bistre“
- Mehanika pomicanja formula odigravanjem karata na kojima su „brzine“ mi je zakon
- Svaka formula tj. vozač ima svoju specijalnu moć (ok ne k’o He-man, al ipak ima) koja može puno toga dobrog donijeti. To baš razigra igru (posebno kad se vlasnik sjeti iskoristit svoju sposobnost).


THE BAD
- Mala prednost pole position bolida – vrlo često se za tu formulu svi bore jer je u poziciji da barem na početku kontrolira trku i začepi promet svojim nezgodnim pozicioniranjem
- Vidiš tko ti je pravi (ne)prijatelj – obeća ti da će se kladit na tebe a onda ti izbuši gume i zgura te na šikanu
- Moraš često pomoć i ljutom neprijatelju jer karta tako kaže


MY TIPS & TRICKS
- Jesi bogataš al’ nemoj bit pijani bogataš – pametno kupuj i vratit će ti se s kamatama
- Pole position – iako u ovoj igri nema kvalifikacijskog kruga, formula koja je na toj startnoj poziciji je ipak mrvu jača od ostalih
- Kladi se bez ponosa – oh koliko sam puta bio uvjeren da ću baš ja bit prvak staze i da se stoga treba kladit na svoju formulu… i onda shvatiš da su svi suigrači tu samo zato da ti pokvare snove.

People likely didn't realize from the subscription notification that it was round two starting and just thought it was another comment.

Also, at least in the US, it was Memorial Day weekend, so people might not have been checking their phones for things like this.

So there should always be a deck for the Psychic to 'peek' at, unless all the cards are already in players' hands


Also the rulebook states that if the train deck has 8 or less cards to it, you cannot draw train cards. Rulebook Page 8 - left column, last paragraph under Draw Train Card section. Thus I would think that if there is that situation, the psychic power would be “nulled” (not available to do) in that situation.

I'd love to see them reprint the Bruce Lee expansion and come out with a Chuck Norris expansion. You'd have to use some of the Chuck Norris jokes in his deck. That would be awesome.

Wife and I played this scenario yesterday and found it incredible difficult....part of that was definetly my poor rolls as well (didn't help). We barely got to Stage 1 before we were wiped, Mythos cards kept having baddies move into our space, so we rarely got any 'safe space' time to do Investigate/Discovery searches. As soon as we had though we were ins a safe space, cards would move/spawn guys right in that space all over again.

But I have a few newbie questions:
1) When you attempt to loot the bodies, you need to role 2 successes in order to succeed:
a) I assume you roll the 3 black dice to start, and if you gain a green die on your insanity track, you can roll those as well?
b) If you only roll 1 success, does that success carry over on your next attempt? Or do you have to roll 2 successes on a single attempt? We found it hard to get 2 successes on three black die in the early game, thus wasting an action turn in an otherwise 'safe' space (since the cultist is dead).
c) Do tentacles still cause madness during this 'loot check'? So let's say you loot the dead cultist and roll 2 successes, but also manage to roll 1 or 2 or even 3 tentacles...Do you really get madness thsi way? Like I said, my rolls were horrible and I flew way up the madness track, much faster than I wanted to. Seemed weird that I would go 'insanely mad' while looting a dead body,

2) My personal hinderance card was pyromaniac. There were no rules on the scenario card to 'extinguish' a fire, unlike E1....So the fire tokes stay in the room for entire game? By mid game, my personal Madness/Sanity triggered 4 times, making me drop 4 fire tokens...with no way to extiguish (the room itself)?

They don't carry over. But you can take stress to reroll.

Yes the tentacle count for insanity in this roll as well.

That is correct. In this scenario if you get a fire token it stays.

That makes sense, it's nice to have an official answer. I think the confusion stems from "You can then enter the Tower dungeon by taking the Quest action on any space adjacent
to the Tower." Typically, you gain the terrain advantage of the space you take the Quest action from. (I didn't find this explicitly in the rule book, but I think we've covered it on these forums before.)

Thank you for this reply. I originally read this right after you posted it and it made me feel a little better knowing retailers might get copies once fulfillment happens later this year.

Really appreciate getting this response directly from you. I was reading the associated Thunder Road kickstarter PDF/document for people who were new to crowdfunding -- and it mentioned something ~I think~ about the Maximum Chrome addition not getting a future retail release... so I assumed the worst about my opportunity to acquire it.

Is it safe to assume that it won't be available any earlier than the target November fullfillment timeframe of the 2nd printing?

In addition to the excellent explanations of [user=Pashootan]I will hereby suggest that it makes a big difference which Investigators you pick to include for your entire team.
One of them should definitely have the combo Arcane Mastery+Marksman in order to do an amazing job of eliminating the enemies from a distance, as well as having better luck looting the dead cultists with the Arcane Mastery skill all by itself. Another useful combo is Stealth+Swiftness to sneak past enemies and/or rearrange their locations. A third highly recognized champion combo is Brawling+Toughness. With just your wife and yourself learning how to play, I would suggest that for the first few games you each pick an Investigator with one of those specific 3 combos, but different from your spouse's choice, and then deploy an Investigator with the third remaining combo which you run mutually as an NPC. [Microbadge=53254]

After you get more comfortable with the game flow and the rules, you might consider each deploying a pair of investigators, so that you have one confirmed good combo Investigator and with your other Investigator you can explore one the other 12 skill combos, in the hopes that you might find combos that uniquely apply to the situations of some of the other episodes!

I particularly enjoy the fun of playing Season 1 Episode 2 - Tomes of Madness against Yog Sothoth! I figure it makes sense that among the tomes are presumably copies of Wilbur Whateley's diary.

And do remember, the number one rule in gaming is "If you are having fun, you are doing it right!"

Where do you get this from? No way this will be delivered in June, August seems possible but also not for everyone in the US. Or did I miss something?

People seem to be misreading the latest update. They are only giving shipping estimates for R'lyeh Rising (the giant Cthulhu expansion) which is shipping separately.

But first, here are our most recent updates regarding the R'lyeh Rising shipment:

Asia Hub and Australia Hub: All parcels have already been dispatched and the tracking information has been uploaded to backers. If you haven't received your package or at least a tracking code yet, please contact our Customer Support so we can help you.
Parcels to Latin America and other countries fulfilled by the USA Hub are expected to arrive at the Hub on June 10.
USA Hub: Containers are being booked, and should start arriving at the Hub by the end of June until the beginning of August.
Parcels to the Canada Hub are being pre-packed until June 18th. Containers will be booked and shipped afterward.
Parcels to the EU Hub are being pre-packed until June 12th. Containers will be booked and shipped afterward.
