Lobotomy 2 is up there with CDMD for me but stands apart as quite unique! Game builds well toward the mega-boss fight.

Currently they are out of stock on the maker’s website but more will come, along with the reprinting.
It won’t get more authentic than that and you will be supporting the hobby by buying components and ensuring money and income gets back to the developers.
In the meantime, continue to use dice perhaps, so that you can continue to play and are not missing out on anything.

to be fair it would be worse if it did get in line, what if its the card with last syllables? then you would just lose the whole effect because the end of turn? better to just lose a card and still have the line available to finish

Are you sure, you might be thinking of the "Extra Ammo" cards? The German Engeneering cards are to my knowledge only available as part of the max chrome kickstarter editions.

I just discovered Restoration Games In February when I fell in love with Unmatched... but it was only 4 days ago that I learned about Thunder Road. Having watched several youtube reviews and play-throughs, only the Maximum Chrome edition will do. Sadly the backer campaign for the 2nd reprint has ended recently.. and I don't want to pay $470 for Maximum Chrome on after market.

I am oblivious to normal lifecycle for backing game reprints.. but is there any hope left that I will still be able to acquire a new copy of Maximum Chrome from Restoration Games in the future?

Conventions or possibly their webstore for any excess inventory. 2nd hand though is likely easiest or from retail shops as soon fulfillment happens later this year for any retail backers.

I got my copy on the webstore for the 2 hours it was available after the first Kickstarter. Hopefully things won't be so crazy after the 2nd Kickstarter ships. If you want to go that route, you should subscribe to the newsletter and subscribe to the BGG forums to keep in-the-know.
