Justin did put his Gloomhaven box in top of the Fireball Island box in the unboxing livestream. I'm not sure if he showed the contents, but he said it was full and even included the Broken Token Gloomhaven insert. I have the exact same insert in my copy of Gloomhaven, and as long as Justin is willing to promise me a new copy of the game if it does break, I'd be happy to film myself placing my fully packed Gloomhaven box on top of my Fireball Island box, as an experiment. As soon as I receive my copy of Fireball Island that is. Considering the reports regarding GamesQuest, it seems it might be a while yet…

Thanks for the clarification. There does seem to be some control over the amount of force used to dump the crow’s nest, it could be fast or slow, which is similar to flicking. In that case I thought the off board rule could apply. We may make this a house rule.↧

Unsure what to do with the honey pots. Do you get one when stung? Are there places to put them on the board? Thanks

The rules show where to place them. You get stung when you pick one up, not the other way around,↧

Just curious what people thought the red lines were for?
You can not build a sea lane across a red line. This makes the game so much easier in all the posts I have seen here.

You can build a sea lane across a single red line, but not over more than one.

I haven't started playing yet (still assembling sacrifices...I mean players), but I could help but take a peak at the rulebook. Good thing I did because I see two points of vagueness that I'd like clarified.
1) (p12) Once per game, when drawing a card with a space for an heirloom sticker, you may make it an heirloom to get a bonus for your family. If another family draws in it in a later game can they put an heirloom sticker over yours in the spot. Thematically, I can see this going either way.

Note that you get a Bee Sting any time you receive a honey pot, whether you pick it up from the island or another player gives it to you. It can be a pretty nasty bit of Take That if you get knocked over by a fireball.↧

Ah that makes sense. I only opened the main game, I didn't look at the expansions, so didn't realize the context for the player t-shirt cards. Thanks for clearing up.↧

I feel like even with an insert this box will severely degrade over time. It's so light I'm afraid an insert might be too heavy for it. Seriously it's that bad. I rarely complain about stuff like this but after spending so much on the game a halfway decent box should have been a given. The box quality is on par with a game sold at a dollar store. The design on the box is beautiful but the cardboard used is extremely poor.↧

I'm hoping your wait isn't as long as everyone fears, Adrian. Got my fingers crossed.
Haven't received my notice in the US yet, but all the box comments have prepared me by lowering my expectations. I figured this box would live on top of my big Kallax, next to my Kingdom Death core.
I'd like to see someone with more artistic skills than myself re-box the game in something sturdy and then take the original box and display it in a severely distressed state. Like flattening the lid, tearing/burning the edges, and putting it in a frame like an archaeological find. Could be pretty funny while also looking cool.

I am not colorblind but have friends who are. Glad to hear the token colors aren't a problem. The photos have matching symbols which is what I wind up using to match myself so I'm hoping that's not a big deal either.
I will say this for the marbles: I don't think they are functionally different from each other, just aesthetically different. So if you mix them up I don't think it will affect game play. Would like to know if you disagree though.

My guess is the massive amount of boxes here along with there large size it was made this way to allow boxes to be collapsed for shipping/storing during the manufacturing process made this more economical. My biggest concert is the lid. Each time it is taken off/put back on it runs more risk over time with the thinner fold-lines on the ends will be where a rip will begin. It's clearly the weak spot now. It's also where you see damage happen first in a collapsible clothing gift box that get stored each year and reused around Christmas time a few years in a row.
A Broken Token insert sounds great to strengthen the box bottom, but this doesn't help with the lid.

Although it would prevent the game from fitting back in the box, I wonder if a warped side board that suffered from a wobble could be fixed with expanding foam? I'm imagining holding the piece firmly against a nonstick surface while injecting foam under it. The foam would expand and form a level surface. A splash of paint would hide the visible edge.Couldn't try the above with a center section, though. And I suppose if you only put the foam where the board was raised off the table (rather than filling the underside), you could always trim off the excess underneath until you were left with a thin layer close to the outer wall. I've seen cosplayers do amazing things with foam.
