My group planes to play it with the stop rule. We feel making the game longer increases opportunities for marble shenanigans and makes the cataclysm tracker more imposing as it increases.

Though thats just a personal opinion. Play as you want.

The 50 cards i have sitting in front of me have a mean ~8. The distribution is really weird (mostly 6s).

2d6 might be a little low of a mean (7). Maybe give movement a minimum of 4? Otherwise game could drag out long with turns of little movement.

The Lynch family. Irish for seafarer or exile. Seems appropriately mysterious.

Haven’t been following the KS comments, eh?

Regardless, thousands of games have gone out. Reading a handful of threads is always going to amplify the complaints since satisfied folks are far more likely to be offline, enjoying their games. The only truly widespread complaint is about the box durability.

Just received my copy today. In opening and counting and components I noticed I have only 12 action cards on the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Bees! expansion:
2 Cataclysm!, 3 Bees?, 3 Bees!, 2 Tiger Leap!, and Tige Pounce!.
What card I'm missing? Or is this a type on the rulebook?

Are the cards in this version the same as the original?

Or are they different size?

[o]If you black out the outer crest on the Helm and you consult the Helm, does that one rune count as blank and you consult again or do you use the second crest if there is one?[/o]

Also

[o]When does the Haunt officially begin? We had a player who had 1 Sanity left and when we read the Stop card at the start of Haunt, he took 1 Sanity damage. Does that mean he died or does the Haunt begin after reading the card and the player to the left of the haunt revealer starts their turn?[/o]

Same size.

Were we meant to leave the captain's log entry listed at the bottom, rear of the province board until game 1?

Yes

The bottom line on the back of the province board says to read entry #XYZ when instructed.
The pseudo-milestone to be read at the beginning of the first regular game tells you to read entry #425, which in turn gives that above mentioned instruction.
So those players in your group that chose an upgrade related to their leader should try to transfer it to the new leader card - hopefully you interpreted "destroy" as "put aside/into the box" like most in this forum suggest and did not really physically destroy the leader cards.

Destroyed means "you won't need them any more for this version of the game", either in free play or campaign. Feel free to recycle or store them in an ornamental coffer or literally bury them in the back yard. But they are no longer part of your story.

The deed is in the Purgatory deck, the deck of cards labeled with a P2XX in the corner. I believe it is the third card down. At the end of each game (and sometimes during a game), you will ADD cards from the purgatory deck into the game. Fan the cards so you only see the numbers in the corner, find the card you need, and add them to your game.

[o]Consult again. It is blank (but cannot be filled with a new sticker.[/o]

[o]We tried to be careful not to kill people with any damage at the start of a haunt. That's not fun. So it shouldn't kill them.[/o]

In my experience, you have to try and get some loft on the boulder. It’s definitely a tricky shot.

As an interpretation, I agree with the post above. However...

Just as a check, did you play two January games? I am almost positive that it isn't possible to do what you did in just one game.

Our researcher is Emma Nowital.

Our medic was given a stupid name (Bloody Gash) by a guy no longer welcome in my home, but after today's performance by our new player - an old friend of mine - healing the sick by simply entering their city, he has been redubbed Jésus H. Cristos. He saved the world at the very last possible turn in May (a little late for Easter, but whatever).

The scientist is Petra Dish.

The generalist is Jen-Erica Playa.

The dispatcher is Yugo Hiro.

[o]The quarantine specialist, his wife, is Nogo Hiro

The operations expert is Archie Tek

The colonel is Sarland Handers. For the record, he is from Kentucky but he sucks at frying chicken.
