Thanks, Jyhne - we probably won't start our game for another couple of months anyway (still finishing off Season 1, as I said), but I've little doubt that we'll be doing so, so your input will be invaluable.

I get that you're owners, but do owners regularly bet on others' cars?

The other advantage with military bases is you get to make all the cool military gear!

It doesn't seem to. I can't imagine removing it though.

I'm not sure you can remove it Downforce and still auction off the cars in the beginning because the payouts for where cars finish and for betting results seem to be perfectly balanced with the auction costs.

However in earlier designs of the same system, like Detroit-Cleveland, there's no betting and the game works fine. Those games use a different auction method and payout scale though.

I use small baggies with small bits of handwritten cards. One is labeled "Active Game Resources." Another is labeled "active but not needed." Another is labeled "Active Stickers" And a third is labeled "Out of Game." I kept the Out of Game one just in case I ever mistakenly chucked something (it's like a glorified waste basket.

In the "Active Game Resources," I keep all of the current Objective cards, all of the Win Bonuses that are still relevant, all of the info that is found through "Search" action, and all of the Characters who are still alive.

You'd feel thoroughly at home opening my box. I have something very similar (albeit I've scrawled on the bags with a DVD pen and used different words).

It would be a bit of a pain to join mid-game. You'd basically have to tell them the whole story all over again. By the end of the year, you have a lot of rules that aren't easily grokkable. That may depend on how far through they join. We had a 5th player join us in May; we didn't find it particularly hard to bring her up to speed.

There are very subtle changes on the map (added a few connections between yellow cities, removed some red/black city connections), but otherwise out of the box it plays/feels like vanilla Pandemic.

They're sensible changes; they're also minor and reasonably subtle. We'd played Pandemic quite a few times before my group started Legacy - so far, I'm not sure that anyone has even noticed the difference.

Can someone confirm that... (Box 5 Spoilers):

[o]...the Tombs Map has 7 hidden tombs? I think there may be just six listed (and an alternative mechanism to find the seventh). I want to be sure I'm not just drawing conclusions from a misprint.[/o]

I guess I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but my copy has [o]seven unique three-symbol hidden entries.[/o]

I think I read part of the card, put the sticker on, and then got sidetracked.

I think you probably made a more significant error than that, because the only card that tells you to add that sticker is inside the package.

So you would have had to open the package, read the first card, and then put everything back in the package and forget that you opened it...

or you would have had to read the card that says "if you haven't opened this door, scratch this card" and interpreted it as "if you haven't opened this door, open it now".

I was thinking about trying to let players just use the top line on the card as the bid. Also more than one card may be used.

Please discuss.

Thank you.

What do the two boxes say? The text is unreadable after the first line in the Land box, and completely blurred in the Sea box. (I used a plastic coin to scrape.)

I found the scratch-offs worked better when I used light pressure on a hard surface (I used metal coins).

Lima scratch-offs (paraphrased):

Search the Land:
[o]Companion: Herbalist (Play any time to remove 1 plague cube from your location)[/o]
Search the Sea:
[o]Open door [60] (a map sticker that puts a haven in the Pacific Ocean); +1 action if you already did[/o]

THANK YOU!

That makes a MAJOR difference!!!

If you want to ramp up the bidding aspect, that's certainly a way to do it. If you're going to allow multiple cards, you'll probably want to double all the other payouts, or you'll have a lot of people in negative numbers.

These are gazillionaires who couldn't care less about racing. They'd bet a million dollars on another racer without batting an eye. I imagine a wild scene in the owners box where everyone is shouting at everyone else and making side bets. Then they all take their private jets home to their private islands.

Forgot a clarification for the "search the sea" block:
[o]Revealing this scratch-off does not mean you have "accessed" the haven, only located it. To "access" it, you need to move onto it.[/o]

That's true. I forgot it takes a few months before things pick up steam.

Folks, one question -
[o]"Access a lost haven" - what does it mean exactly? Does connecting the lost haven to the network means it is already accessed? Or you have to visit it first? We have different opinions in our group what does it mean exactly, so I'd like Your help on that[/o]

I'd appreciate Your help with above, cause we have different opinions in our group and we don't know what to do with one of our objective.

Thanks in advance!
