Hmm maybe you're right. I tend to try to error on the side of too weak rather than too strong, because playing with/against an OP custom character always feels bad.It sounds like the consensus is that the Necronomicon doesn't give enough bang for the buck. I tried to compensate for that with having cards in his deck that reward him for the damage the book deals to him though.
I have to be careful with allowing the book to deal X damage or give actions back though! Because his card "The Zoan Chant" deals auto damage based on the total damage he has taken during the turn, if Alhazred ever gets ahead on health he could just use the book to auto win by using it 14 times in a row then blowing them away with "The Zoan Chant". So maybe putting a limit on the X effect (up to 2) or (up to 3).
And yea the general consensus is that "Which Can Eternal Lie" isn't doing enough. There are 3 of them in the deck, because I want to make the Necronomicon relatively easy to retrieve if he loses it (he will). So I wonder if giving 2hp would be too much? Maybe giving 1hp if it gets the book back, and 2 if it doesn't?
