Hello Mark. I am interested if you still have an extra set. How much to mail them to Denmark?

Does most of the community even have S3 & S4? Seems early to be crying "MOAR CDMD!"

There was a long delay between seasons 1 and 2 and the announcement of season 3. That is when the cries of MOAR were collected.

Exactly.

I’m speculating that the original game was planned to be standalone. The response was much greater than anticipated and they decided to do a second wave of content, but because they didn’t plan for it, there was a long delay. During this time, fan requests for more were actually rather intense.

Based on that, they probably greenlit both the second and third campaigns. But then the second was unexpectedly delayed by quite a bit. So you can see where they thought this scheduled campaign would launch at a time when fans had played Fear of the Unknown and were ready for more.

I am hearing "bad planning" and have no sympathy left for doing a poor job at this, it's more virulent than covid-19 in cmon.

You can see fairly detailled statistics here https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2315582/log-your-plays-and-... , but for the new content we currently don't have a lot of plays as the kickstarter hasn't been delivered in the US. Also, the data is muddled by the fact that we have the Unknown Rules which can make the game easier or more difficult depending on your choices.

Current takeaway:
- Azathoth from Fear of the Unknown might be similarily difficult as the Black Goat overall (again, very few data points). But it turned out that the Goat was especially difficult with higher player counts, not sure how they compare in that case. (37% success rate for the Goat, Cthulhu was around 60%).
- Using two Unknown Monsters (making the game more difficult) and then Unknown Relics (making the game easier) will make the success rate drop by around 10%, so not enough to make Cthulhu as difficult. You could skip the Unknown Relics but they are super fun.
- There just isn't enough data for Ithaqa to be honest, better wait a few weeks.

I would guess a "Rats in the Walls" themed episode.

I totally agree - with the devolved humans (rat men) in this as well. But I also started to wonder if there will be another bigger monster type in this episode as well (like Colour out of space).

Haven't tried to play competitively, but you could always try the old Legendary-style approach. Most people I've met don't tend to like to play Legendary as intended, but it is a way to play co-op games competitively.

If you're not familiar, you have a group fail condition, like normal, but, when the scenario is completed, you use some criteria to figure out who among the players won.

You'd have to figure out (and balance) a VP point award scheme for each scenario and enemy box, and figure out your prefered method of tracking VP; but that's a way to make co-op games into competitive games.

I guess reasoning could be that the Unknown monsters are the gimmick from season 3 and 4. If someone gets 5&6 amd 1&2, they don't get all the unknown monster cards from season 1&2. The unknown monsters are the gimmick for season 3&4 while the gimmick in season 5&6 appears to be the campaign and special triggering room tiles.

Well, i wasn't counting buffy twise and i will not count Tris/Yen twise. The reason is simple. You can't ply Yen vs Tris without second box.

I guess that's a fair point, but I think that would still count as 3,480 combinations: 59^2-59 = 3,422 + 58 = 3,480 (since you could play Yennefer vs. 58 other heroes plus Triss vs. 58 other heroes; I wouldn't count Buffy twice because the distinction there is different sidekicks, not different heroes).

But episodes only ever need two monsters, so if it is rats and devolved humans, it can't have a third one.

So... I'm set to receive my Unspeakable Box tomorrow. I've read here numerous times how battling Dagon is impossible/disappointing and wondered if anyone had come up with any rule tweaks to make it a better experience?

I largely agree with your final thoughts, though I've found it works fine if we just get it out once in a while as the repetitiveness isn't as evident when its played just a couple times a year.

What about the lost episode 1?

I haven't played any of the Lost Episodes as I only just got the Unknowable box the other day and these are my first Lost Episodes so I hadnt been sure.
