We are in a similar position. We got the expansions via kickstarter, but it was quite a decent saving to order the core game via the UK-based boardgame shop Zatu. They frequently back kickstarters so we trusted them with this.

We were told it would arrive in January, but it keeps being pushed back. They seem confident that they are getting copies via their distributor, but they don’t know when.

We currently have the expansions but no core game, which is a little worrying!

I understand the developers not wanting the tower to do anything since it is now defeated but maybe it can give some lights and sounds of a defeated beast or crumbling stone 🤷🏻‍♂️ it’s such an amazing board game feature it would be nice to have it be part of the finale.. I really do love this game 👍

When we win, the tower slowly lights up from the bottom to the top, glows a bit brighter, then goes dark as the app makes an explosion sound. This is meant to simulate the tower exploding/being destroyed.

When we lose, the app plays a somber tune, then the tower flashes red lights as it emits an audible laughing sound. This represents the adversary laughing at our pathetic attempt to defeat them.

Doesn't your tower do this when you win/lose?

That's correct. I forget exactly when we changed it in development, but some retailers didn't update after the change.

I usually play with new players to the game every time, so I tend to play any scenario many times. I've had the game for some years now, and I still have a couple of unopened scenarios in the base box (and an unopened Goat).

Shoe polish? This makes miniature painters very sad.

Why? It's relatively inexpensive and widely available. (And if you polish your own shoes, you might already have some around the house.)

Hi,

We start this game after we completed Pandemic Season 1
After 3 games, we lost game after game.
So we now lost our 4th game in a row and we can't figure how to complete [o]mandatory mission "Build 3 new supply centers"[/o]

We always lost the game because a green cube appear on the board because need more supply cubes
We can manage another missions but this one seams impossible to complete in each game

[o]
We need 15 or in the best case 12 cards to complete it
3 "sets" of 4 or 5 cards and each "set" must having by one player to create on new supply center
We also need to "expand" new territory witch need again more cards
How we can do it ?
We always face to a new pandemic card witch throw new green cube because we can't manage city without cube before new cubes appear in each propagation
[/o]

Do you have some tactic or suggestion to manage it

Thank you

In Episode 184 we provide our hot take review of Thunder Road: Vendetta covering the mechanisms, the production, and our overall feelings of the game.

We discuss a question on games that were frustrating to punch and sort and then we discuss some board games on our table including Glory to Rome, Concordia, and Newton.

Which month are you in? One of the issues with Season 2 is that once you start falling behind, things can get really rough. You really want to be following the story hints on where to explore and what to look for - specifically if you are around March/April <o>you really need to find the lost Haven, it's a huge power spike. Once you have this, using the new abilities you get from it can help a lot with minimising how much of the board you need to control, as well as making your player deck better.</o>.

If you've lost 4 games in a row, you've now got that bonus card from turning point 2, as well as 8 or 10 events in the deck, which should give you some breathing room - I would recommend using those extra 10 cubes early rather than later, +10 cubes should help set you up in your next game and give some extra time to build supply centres.

In terms of building supply centres, assuming you've connected some of North America and possibly South America you should have more blue and yellow cards than black. It's going to therefore be a bit easier to put together sets of cards in those two colours at the moment - though there are still more than enough black cards for a supply centre there. The initial 9 cities on the grid have the most cards, 4 of each, so if you want to try and funnel cards of a particular colour to a player they probably want to mostly stay around there, rather than wandering inland to do a slow exchange. Special roles and upgrades can also help with getting cards to the right player.

Successful on my 3rd attempt this weekend. One character with Brawl and another with Sneak to handle an early game Dark Young dropping on me. Max Brawl to clear Dark Young at the end.

Are you able to get all the evolutions on the mutants? Like can you scratch off both the bubbles on the mutants evolve card or is the card void after you scratch off one of the options

How replayable do you want? If you play one game a night for a month, it will get repetitive. If you play a game or two a month you should be fine.

I mostly playing CDMD solo. I pull the game off my shelf and play through the 6 scenarios of one season, using different characters for each scenario. When I lose, I replay the scenario until I win it. I then put the game away, play other games, then come back to CDMD in about 6 months to play the other season. A spreadsheet records which Elders Ones I've played with each scenario. It feels completely replayable this way.

As Lee stated, the replayability will get better once we have Season 3.
