I don't know what to do now because I completed disrupt the first trail objective fully and rules said that I need to add threat cards but I didn't because I completed objective fully.

Did I do right?

Thanks. So does it means some tiles [o]will not be available for selection[/o] during the campaign?

There are Chapters where you have several possible Haunts, with each Haunt unlocking a specific room tile or tiles, but not all Haunts unlocking the same one(s). When you play one of those Chapters, of the tiles that could be unlocked by that Chapter's Haunts, you only add in the one(s) unlocked by the Haunt you played, and the rest are locked out.

If you want balanced competitive play, just add damage bidding: randomly draw 2 characters and a board, take turns bidding damage amounts. Whoever bids highest picks the character they want to play and starts them with that much damage on their hero (or spread as evenly as possible among heroes for raptors).

Part of what I like about the game is the thematic decks and their mechanical distinctiveness (also the art is great). Depicting characters in ways contrary to their lore would hurt some of this, imo.

Superman, even golden age superman, is a flying, superfast, nigh-invulnerable wrecking ball, with supersenses and ranged blasting powers. I just can't believably picture the likes of Robin Hood, Muldoon, Little Red Riding Hood, the Invisible Man, etc... as credible opponents for him. He would need to either be waaay overpowered as a playable character; or do a complete 180 on his build and destroy immersion.

Same for Hulk. Even Joe Fixit is nigh invulnerable and could throw a 40 ton subway car with relative ease. (Maybe his first comic, gray hulk incarnation would be an appropriate opponent).

My idea is that they should introduce "mega" characters. Essentially, large characters like King Kong, Optimus Prime, a Cyclops, etc... would be giants and you would need a team of heroes to take them out. Essentially if they introduce a point system (similar to Heroscape) then you could give characters point values and maybe Superman would be equal to 3 or 4 "regular" characters.

I've also wondered about perhaps making the game a squad based tactical combat game. It would need a larger board and you could have 3 or 4 heroes squaring off against each other. There would be terrain effects (like the elevation in the newest set , or doors in the Beowulf set) and possibly generic "supply cache" locations where you could pick up extra cards to add to your deck. You would activate 2 heroes per turn. The hurdle is that the exhaustion mechanic is kind of restrictive and can both be very punishing and/or abused. This is why I thought of the supply cache idea and you only activate 2 heroes per turn. Essentially you'd need to prioritize going for specific terrain advantaged areas or supply caches, and you'd have to juggle your characters and figure out how to parcel out your cards(and subsequent exhaustion). Naturally, it would need a bigger board, and you'd need to use opaque sleeves for all your card backs (as you'd be adding supply cache cards to the deck).

With a tactical game of 4v4, perhaps Superman could be a 3 or 4 point character and take on the whole team.

Thirdly, I also hope that we see a ton more folk, literature, fairy tail, real life "heroes" like Houdini

You’re in luck! A forthcoming set pits Houdini against The Genie of the Lamp, and Restoration also has Rosie the Riveter and Shakespeare in the works 😁

Everytime Mic Al makes a post about Unmatched it feels like they just want to play a different game and not Unmatched :D

:geek_tongue: Nah, man. I'm a fan. I really like some of the characters, the art, and the thematic/mechanical differences.

As a fan, I do sometimes gripe about certain design choices/directions. I wish The Invisible Man and King Arthur (both characters whose design aesthetic I really like, and I'm a particular fan of the original IM book/movies, in general) were more competitive decks. (I even posted a thread which I think was unfairly received: Fixing The Invisible Man. I felt my points were cogent and reasonable.)

See? I own several of the sets (and have 2 custom characters):

My Zombies fight like a horde (they are individual fighters whose tokens can stack) and my Minotaur has labyrinth walls. I'd really like to post the decks but they're kind of scrambled together from other people's decks and I don't want to take undue credit. (I did do my best to balance them and tweak them to have effects that I thought were more thematic.) A close up of my Zombies and Minotaur:

Hello again!

Looking for some clarification of Achilles' ability. The ability card states that when Patroclus dies, discard 2 random cards. What happens if you kill him off with an empty hand? Say you use Battle Frenzy as the last card in your hand and it kills Patroclus off by doing two damage to him.

Is it, "congratulations, you're a genius!" and you don't have to discard? Or, do you discard two random cards off the top of your deck?

Thanks in advance for your help!

"Congratulations, you're a genius"

You do what you can. Discard (up to) 2 random cards.

Not likely. It usually takes a bit for the stock to get through distribution from the time it hits the warehouse. We don’t know yet exactly when retailers will get their copies.

How about now?

Mainly asking because I have a coupon for my FLGS that's only good until the 31st, and I'd love to use it on Vol 2. But, somehow, I don't think that's going to happen...

Possible, but I can't make any guarantees. You should be able to ask them.
