Just to avoid confusion from others who might stop by. "Opened but never played" wouldn't account for a missing Treasure Trove which is a separate sku.

I apologize for neglecting to check the comments on Unmached Maker. I like your proposed phrasing for The Devil's special abilty and have updated the character card to match it. The only change I made was turning "when there are exactly" to "if there are exactly" in an effort to make everything fit on the card. I also added a rough draft "Clarification" card to help resolve some of the questions people were having. I would love continued feedback on the revised special ability, clarification card, and the deck in general. Thanks to everyone who has expressed interest in The Devil and helped me make it better as a whole.↧

I want to echo Ryan's sentiments above. I like 3v3 quite a bit, but only as a 2 player game with each controlling a team. 3v3 makes for a long game and it's very likely to have one or more characters being taken out early (since ganging up on someone is generally plan A). I expect a 5 player FFA game would have similar issues, though I can't speak from experience on that. With 5 players I would agree with doing some combination of 1v1 and 2v2 games.

The Dicetower did a Top 10 Games that Murdered other Games (https://youtu.be/rhfD3Rp5lNg). They answered the question, “what modern game replaces an old classic, because they deliver a similar, yet superior experience?” That is to say, they’d never play the old game again, because of the existence of some newer, better game.It has been 5 years since SeaFall came out, so it feels like enough time has passed to ask, is there a newer game that replaces/murders SeaFall? If so what is it and why?
Thanks!

Hello @bitfrosting, been a while! You've certainly set the stage for a bunch of responses like: "Nothing murdered this game, it murdered itself", or "the game was dead on arrival and didn't need to be murdered", or "the game is still alive murdering all who play it", yadayadayada. I'm a big fan so I don't believe in any of those responses, just maybe cutting some off before they happen.
My answer to your question is ... ? A legacy game in the age of sail, is there anything else out there that is even remotely close to what Seafall offered? I'd love to see Seafall 2 murder Seafall. But, I'm not sure if there is enough interest and given what what was involved to make Seafall 1, it would have to be an enormous undertaking, without the promise of financial reward commensurate with the effort to make the game. If I were independently wealthy, I would take a crack myself. But I'm not, so I can't.
I know I didn't answer your question, but I don't know of one. If Chronicles 1: Origins ever gets finished and released, that might be broad enough in scope to eclipse Seafall, but that is the best I can offer. Hopefully, someone has a better answer than mine, because it there is a game that can murder Seafall, I'm on it.

Attack is an action you can perform. The other possible actions are Maneuver or Scheme. So for Robin's ability, it means after the Attack action has been completed, which consists of three steps (Declare Target, Choose and Reveal, Resolve Combat). So after all three steps of Attack are complete, which includes the After Combat effects on cards, then Robin's special ability can be used.↧

Hi albcann, I enjoyed your answer. I couldn’t think of a game either, so that’s why I thought to ask. I haven’t been tuned into new releases for a while and I had a feeling I may have missed out on something.

Hello, I've just played the game for the first time last night and got this haunt.Would you mind answering a few questions about this haunt and some general rules?
1- must the victims make a speed roll to escape the attic (as requested by the tile), or does the text on that tile have no effect on them?
2- what's the difference between losing 1 of a trait and losing 1 point of a trait? I know losing 1 might, for example, means going down 1 space in the might track. Does losing 1 point of might mean the same thing??
3- when I defend against an attack, may I use a weapon or other item?
4- In my turn, if I'm in the same room with another explorer, may I get a card from him/her?
5- when discovering a new room with text and a card symbol, which takes effect first? Does it even matter?

by Venturello
What an amazing game! Spoilers ahead for start of November...But first not any november but specifically when you choose to [o]side with Sabik.
We LOVED the fork here of siding with Sabik or not! So much spy content! And the tie in to c0dA!![/o]
Anyways, 2 questions:
[o]1. Langley, aren’t these actions abusable? Can you repeat them st any time?
Briefing room - yes, high price but wow, you can get just the right event card you need for the situation you are facing. That’s SUPER useful especially for us, we have low funding and almost no cover lost.
Armory - wow, assets for free! But only on Allied alias - so from our 3 characters, 2 have all spots taken except one that has all spots open. So he will target this infiltration!
2. I don’t understand why passing through a tunnel requires you to reveal a card. If you are inflitrating by necessity you have cards in your hand. As this is any card... isn’t his superfluous?

Hmm, interesting question. Given that Seafall has its cult following, with the rest of us thinking it’s broken at best (just look at the way the price of it plummeted - I just sold a brand new copy for $7 and feel lucky I got that), I’m not sure exactly what it would take to dethrone it.Does the dethroning game have to be a legacy game? If not I’d say Merchants & Marauders pre-dethroned it, and Endeavor: Age of Sail dethroned it.
If so, then I’d say Stellaris: Infinite Legacy will probably dethrone it when it comes out. It’s a legacy game, just a different kind of ship. 😁

The survival guide says: "Victims react to house dangers and required rolls as if they were monsters. A victim cannot go through an unexplored door."
The speed roll on the attic tile is a danger, and the rulebook says "monsters can ignore any harmful text on a room tile".
As a result, victims don't have to make a speed roll to escape the attic.

Yes that's right.
heitcabr wrote:

Weapons are only for attack, so no they can't be used for defense. The armor is about the only item that can be used for defense, for its text explicitly allows that.
heitcabr wrote:

Yes, that is still allowed. Be aware though that according to the normal rules, you cannot use what you obtained until your next turn. That's because for each item, you can do only one of the following things: use/trade/drop/steal/pick up
heitcabr wrote:
5- when discovering a new room with text and a card symbol, which takes effect first? Does it even matter?
If the Feast haunt has already happened, you aren't allowed by its rules to discover a new room. Otherwise though the card symbol occurs first before any text on the card.

Thread: Cthulhu: Death May Die – Season 2 Expansion:: Rules:: S2E6 - what's going on here ?
by NewPlayerOne
HelloI tried to play episode 6 yesterday, but after setup and read scenario rules I decided to clean up table and take some other game.
I was very confused, because I didn't understand this rules.
My questions are about the cult leader.
The cult leader starts with 3 souls at blue gate. → OK
When the elder one advanced I should place another one soul under the leader. → OK
I need to remove (with special action) all souls from under the leader. → OK
There is the information, that the cult leader moves with all souls.
→ When does he move? There is no rules for his movement.
→ Is he a cultist or monster? Or just en enemy?
→ Does he follow the player like other enemies?
→ Does he move with the cultists?
Ok, next. What should I do with removed souls? Should I place each one at the next gate?
→ ex. 1. Should I move each soul from the blue to the yellow gate?
or
→ ex. 2. Should I move first soul from the blue gate to the yellow gate, and next from the blue one to the red one, and next from the blue to the blue? Last moved soul (from blue to blue) should be stay under the leader or where?
I have a Polish language version and it may be a problem with a poor translation,
but I am disappointed this season. This is very underdeveloped.
