Restoration Games just confirmed:
"Planning on doing an update soon, but I wanted to quickly mention that I was finally able to get a playthrough set up on the Dice Tower on May 27 at 10 AM ET. You'll finally be able to see everything up close and personal."

This game has a lot of call backs to the other two games, so if you're playing it for story purposes, I recommend Season 1 first.
But you can play this game and understand it completely.

I will never buy a Legacy game. If the game is good, I will want to play it for years.

The legacy concept offends me as a collector and a thrifter

You can play this one for years. It’s fully playable after the campaign is done. In fact, there are many haunts than can’t be experienced during the campaign.

You should learn what Legacy means before you bash it.

Good to know - I ended up going with the mayday yucatan sleeves in both std. and premium and cut them down in a paper cutter. I set up a ruler and clamp to get all the sleeves cut down to exactly the same length and did one at a time. Time consuming but not too bad. I had many games with cards this size.

And for Rosie the Riveter, Restoration Games has already shared that she’ll be building/piloting a mech suit.
Not really what Rosie did though. She was a factory worker, not a steampunk mech-warrior!

Still I like this a lot better than Shakespeare or Sherlock! Rosie at least gets a mech suit, and Alice gets a magic sword. Do Sherlock and Red get anything to thematically justify their warriorhood? Does Holmes at least cary a pistol?

I think anyone can be re-imagined as a fighting hero.

Indeed. But most of the characters don't need reimaging because they are already fighting heros (or beasts/monsters or have a superpower). Mixing the two seems strange to me. What's the point of featuring real fighterrs like King Arthur or Electra if you can just as easily give a sword to PT Barnum or Oliver Twist?

Anyway, people seem to really enjoy the inclusion of reimaged characters. I on the other hand do not wish to rain on anyone's parade, nor to be negative about a game I am actually excited to buy and play!

I think I can suck it up with Alice and Rosie (and the game is a bit light on woman fighters, especially if we are not into Buffy).
Shakespeare and Sherlock might find themselves hidden away or traded. Not sure about Houdini yet.

Then rules-wise it seems clear that you can do it.

Thread: Unmatched: Little Red Riding Hood vs. Beowulf:: Rules:: Beowulf special ability question

Hey guys.

I just got my LRRH vs Beowulf set and I noticed something what I'm curious about.

On Beowulf card the special ability says "When Beowulf is dealt damage, he gains 1 Rage.

But on the rule book what I got in Section 16 "Beowulf's Rage" it writes: When Beowulf takes damage, regardless of when he takes it or where it comes from, he gains 1 Rage.

I'm not sure I understand your confusion. These are identical effects. The second one is clearer, but the one written on the actual card is the same.

Well, English is not my native language maybe that's why I was confused.

For me it looked like the first one, when Beowulf is dealt damage (attack someone and win the combat with for example 5vs4 so he makes one dmg to the enemy)

But the second one for me (when Beowulf takes damage, when he's defending 3 vs 5 and loses hp so takes dmg)

But if you say these are identical effects its makes more sense 🙂

Thanks for the reply, appreciate it.

Oh apologies mate! Didn't realize, wasn't attempting to be rude. "is dealt", used in Beowulfs card ability, means "When received", so "When Beowulf is dealt damage" means "When Beowulf receives damage."

The opposite effect would probably be written as "When Beowulf deals damage".

Basically whenever Beowulfs health dial goes down for any reason, give him a rage token. Hope this helps!
