There’s already a thread for speculating about inspirations for investigators. I would recommend leaving that out of your inventory listing if you’re trying to create a clean reference posting.↧

Quality aside, I don’t think the games are especially similar. A multi-hour dungeon crawl is quite different than a tight 60-minute traditional coop. I would recommend them to different audiences. And yes, C:DMD is also much better than MD.

That’s definitely the tendency. Some scenarios have items that bomb everything in a space and that can be effective for interrupting their cycle of endlessly respawning.↧

I actually believe this is a hidden strength of the game. Because the Mythos deck is reshuffled after every advance, there is no guarantee that any one enemy type will be strong or weak in a given game.
Using the first episode as an example, since everyone knows it, I’ve had games where the Fire Vampire never moved and I’ve had games where people were killed by being double-teamed by aggressive Fire Vampires.
This gives the same scenario the potential to play out in meaningfully different ways. It also keeps you on your toes when you’re not sure which enemy is the most pressing danger.
There are usually two cards in the 16-card deck for larger enemies. If you want to play as if they won’t get you, your gamble will pay off... sometimes.
And don’t forget they tend to move farther when they do activate.

When the Cthonian does move it can be a bitch. Count yourself lucky. Any cultists along its path certainly aren’t...

Does this expansion add much to gameplay or would one be fine with just an unspeakable pledge plus Season 2 and Goat expansions? How much gameplay is in this giant "miniature" expansion. Is it worth finding the storage room for it?
Thanks

I love this game and have been playing it a ton. I’m glad I didn’t order the “bigature” when I backed the game and I have no intention of getting it. Note that it doesn’t share the modularity of other scenarios, thereby adding much less variety than a scenario usually provides. That is, you’re not playing it against Hastur or Dagon.↧

I was just at a local game shop that sold the base game with a free unspeakable box with it. They also had a few sets of extra dice, which I picked up.↧

Every enemy that is neither a cultist nor an Elder One is a monster, so both.

Tile size hasn't bothered me either. I have a decent size table, but I don't need giant maps just so 3-4 monsters can all fit in each space. I'd rather have a more compact game.
This exact thing. The game fits on my table. If it were any bigger, it wouldn't.
Maybe you just have small 'table'?

If I do not want to spend the stress in the top “may” action or the bottom “or” action, can I simply discard the card?
Yes, as long as the wording allows it (both options start with 'you may'). Second option is often Guilty Conscience that cannot be discarded.
Let me bring up a specific card..I have only 1 stress. The top option I "may" claim Jerome for 2 stress. Since I only have 1, this I cannot do. The second option is OR take 1 stress to claim bleach. If I do not want to spend my last stress for the bleach must I take it anyway?
I guess the 'may' applies to both options. Since it is a trade, where you exchange stress for some benefit, we decided that you don't have to do it unless you want to.

Hi Matuš.Our main mission/goal/purpose/scenario/thing we do is helping people without an Avatar to get one.
But noone has ever come here in vain, and walked away empty handed, so be a good boy until Christmas, and we’ll see if Santa has a little something for you... ;)

Hi, I've held off on getting the brokentoken crate because it doesn't provide enough space for Spider Springs and/or future expansions.
So before I invest in a storage solution, I want to confirm the game is "complete". Can someone please chime in if more expansions are planned?

It is my understanding from a conversation I had with Broken Token customer support that they are working on an upgrade for the Fireball Island crate.
I will contact them again and post what I find out here.
