So the card says you may not take any action other than rest, and that you are "safe". I interpreted this as you are effectively in a safe space so you should be able to investigate, no? Since its not an action. Thematically it doesn't take sense since you're in a corner just frozen in fear haha

Putting monster restrictions on rooms could break the game as it could prevent the bosses from spawning enemies in its own room.Adding limits also adds a complication to the rules which could slow down the game.
I’ve had a couple instances of over crowding but it doesn’t ruin the game for me. In some way, if you have a tile that is that crowded; you’re already in trouble. You almost need to be thinning the herd of cultists and monsters as you go to prevent you from getting swarmed.

the tiles are small, but i just fill in where i can. The 3 times i have played, the board gets full, but no one has complained about the tiles being too small.↧

There is no Elder One in Season 2.

We played our first game of DMD tonight and one of the players had that card. It did say on it that you can't investigate.↧

My Yog Sothoth has a broken tentacle and I put in a support request with pictures and it took about three days for them to respond. They said they would ship me a new one as soon as they are able.↧

Thread: Cthulhu: Death May Die:: General:: Storage hints

I really love the box system here. It’s some of the more logical storage I’ve seen from CMON. Except...I hate having investigators spread over three boxes. Any hints on more logical storage? Or am I going to have to foamcore it if I want them all together?↧
Reply: Cthulhu: Death May Die:: General:: Re: Storage hints
Subscribing for interest.
I've been thinking about this myself. Also having all the 3 boxes, I don't think you can fit everything in one. I've been pondering if I'd be able to compress things to fit into two boxes by removing the GOO boxes.
Maybe one box with all the models and GOO related tokens and cards and the another with episodes, core tokens and tiles...?
-edit- Presumably, I'd need a foam insert for models and something to hold the cards. I'm not sure if it's doable with the plastic inserts.

Shortly, no (unless you make your own episodes).
Since there's no Great Old Ones in Season 2, all the enemies are monsters. That would mean that all the monsters of S2 are tied to S2 episodes.

Played mythos cards, as per rules, when played go into the discard stack, the insanity cards does not state an exemption from that nowhere in its written text.
In fact it states just the opposite- play it as if you just drew it. Meaning it isnt drawn, but follows the normal gameplay rules preventing a loop.
The game was streamlined and tested into oblivion.

The game was streamlined and tested into oblivion.
But doesn't it indeed state the exception to the rule?
Just for reference, the cards reads:
The Designer of recurring trauma insanity card wrote:
Keep the last Mythos card any player drew (with no Summoning symbol) near this card, until they're shuffled.*
Recurring Trauma
If there is a Mythos card near this card, play it as if you had just drawn it. Otherwise heal all of your stress.

*Emphasis mine.
The card very clearly states you keep the last card drawn until they're shuffled. It doesn't state keep it until the trauma triggers. Only way to get rid of the card is to force shuffling, which generally means GOO advances.

I guess we can agree to disagree on the semanthics of that card untill the official FAQ comes out.

The wording is a bit of a mess, but it is also rather straight forward if you look at it mechanicaly with a grain of logic.
Trying to eschew it to be "harder" just for shits and giggles or because it seems more comical to die in a broken loop where there should be none, is neither productive nor helpful for the gaming community looking for actual gameplay expericence advice on bgg.

I happen to think the wording is fine and with my 'grain of logic' it is mechanically solid, even though I see it different than you.
Ending rules discussions with passive aggressive statements about other gamer's intents is neither productive nor helpful for gaming community looking for actual gameplay experience advice on bgg.
-edit- Just to add; it needs pretty specific circumstances for the loop to happen, so it's not like this is automatically a game losing insanity card.

The episodes are very space efficient, but the Elder One boxes are a big problem space-wise. I think they will have to be eliminated to achieve any significant space savings.↧

Yep, the card specifies investigate as something you can’t do. They lump it in with actions, which makes it easy to gloss over. But it is very clear if you read it carefully. Essentially you entirely skip phase 3 of the turn sequence while catatonic.↧

How does Rasputin's free death timing work?
-Do you count successes first (killing you), meaning you don't take insanity (and can never level up dying)?
-What happens to the rest of the attack that killed you?
--My common sense says when you die you stop the attack and then revive.
-Do you skip the rest of the attack phase or continue with the next enemy if there is one?
-Since it's 'instead of dying' (according to FAQ), I guess you keep all tokens too?
I played it the way you 'cheat death' and never actually die, so I kept the tokens and discovery cards I had (This was before I read the FAQ). I also continued the attacks with the creatures that were left (stopping midway with the attack that killed me), but luckily survived their attacks with 2 hp.

You could 1 box the whole game but, you'd have to baggy all the miniatures by heroes and monsters. Ditching any containers for the Elders and heroes. I'd suggest only do this if you don't plan on painting them.↧

Don’t forget there are only 8 fire tokens. Once those are placed, there can be no more on the board. S1E1 and S2E2 have extra fire tokens, but those aren’t used in other scenarios.↧
