Can't disagree

I'm loving it.

But I did get the big guy and he is sooooooo good ...

I've really enjoyed painting him to ...

But yeah - you don't really need him.

But he's cool ;) Mini or not ...

Yep it seems correct...very strange indeed, but correct. I realized we alway skipped everything except the check advance phase AND Elder One end turn effects. And I think I prefer it that way, as playing with 4-5 Investigators already seems easier to me, this will just make it even easier.

I really wish the cards were numbered so you'd know exactly if you have all the cards of every set, not just the correct amount of cards.

My best guess is that you aren't pushing it down fully before starting the game. It rises periodically throughout the game (I think 4 times total, the 4th being the time the gold spills out).

If your copy really is defective, you could try pushing it down one more time during the game. It tells you not to do this so the gold actually spills out at the end, but if yours is always coming out early, push it down after you notice it has raised once. That should cause the gold to spill out at the correct time.

I bought this on Black Friday from amazon for $14.99. It arrived yesterday and my kids loved it (3.5 and 6). We beat level 1 a few times and have lost level 2 a couple.

The 6 year old had to sacrifice her batteries from her beloved vtech camera in order to play (thought we had some, but we only had AAA batteries). The batteries are still in this game instead of her camera.

This game really deserve better exposure, but don't be afraid to try it with younger kids. My 3.5 year old did just fine on level 1 and he loves it.

Agreed! I have enough campaign games so a whole bunch of one shots is very appealing to me. Much more likely to take it to friends’ houses to play as well. For me, I’m considering this game more like a typical co-op where you win or lose. Either way you can play again or pack the game up.

I like the idea of having to fight the same old one in another episode too.

You could probably use Legacy as an expansion for base Pandemic. People have posted ideas about that here. I would suggest not looking that up yet if you haven't played Legacy season 1, because there would be massive spoilers.

But otherwise - no, you will not be able to use base Pandemic's expansions with this. The board isn't really playable with anymore once the campaign ends. The reasons are very spoilery.

After the mess that the campaign mode for Massive Darkess introduced I am quite happy they stuck with single episodes.

I sold it after playing everything and feeling it didn't really need to be played again, but the campaign mode in SMOG Rise of Moloch was absolutely excellent!!

How about - if you lose you fight the same elder one in the next episode. Continue until you have defeated all 5 elder ones (or as many as you own) or you ran out of investigators (would have to adjust the number based on the number of elder ones and the number of players).

I really like this idea. Five "planned" games, each against a different Elder One (or alternate between the ones you have), but if you lose you don't replay the same episode. You play the next episode using the same Elder One, and then add another game (so six, then seven, then... you get the idea). If you have all five EOs, then it's simply a case of defeating each one.

I'd say pick 10 Investigators, with the extra 5 being used to replace eliminated Investigators between episodes.

As for leveling up, 1 Sanity loss per episode (so by the 5th game all Investigators start on the level up dot), and 1 Elder One Summoning symbol already added to the Mythos card discard (so the Elder One moves once along their track during the setup for the 4th game).

Might get messy but if that doesn't balance out too well, you could also have each Investigator keep 1 Discovery card between episodes (if they have one).

So I too think the minis are fine. What a weird thing to bitch about. Half of these board games use cardboard cut outs. Be happy it's not 2d.

Also. Has anyone else found Ernest to be totally broken? Just with the text on the card, he can make 13 attacks against monsters by healing 3 times per turn and using the lvl2 demon Hunter ability for multiple free attacks. (I know that it's likely not designed to be so over powered, but I've found no rules or official content to contradict this busted combo. Also abilities normally state "once per turn." We do not have this clause on demon Hunter lvl 2)

My guess is yes they can move freely as connecting rooms are adjacent. I just couldn't find a concrete "yes". Some of these rooms have small doors. How do this big arse star spawn even fit through!

Yep. The connected tiles are treated just like any other adjacent tile. Marksmanship characters can even shoot through them!

Thanks for posting about this; we completely missed this rule. If we had known about it, we might have won our game...

We only missed taking out Cthulhu by one point. The first character died due to sanity loss at the end of

One character would have still been around to launch an assault on him, except she died due to sanity loss due to the End Turn Effects, so that wouldn't have changed. But the next two characters died in combat, and we still did the End Turn Effects, which killed our fourth and final character before they could attack. We only missed taking Cthulhu out by a single point of damage, and she was capable of throwing a lot of dice...

...an older John Wick in disguise :p

So for Season 1 Episode 2 with Hastor as the Elder One, there was a propensity for cultists to cluster in large large numbers in a small grouping of areas. It was Stage 3 and there were like 15 cultists (including the special Hastor Tommygun minions) bunched up around Hastor itself and adjacent areas.

Enter Ahmed with maxed out Sneak which allows you to basically move through all monsters and do 1 damage to them as well. As each cultist only had 2 hp, within 2 run actions he had singlehandedly demolished Hastor's army. In my mind's eye he was really doing the John Wick thing (he had a Browning in hand).

In another funny incident John Morgan (ala Morgan Freeman as Indiana Jones/John Wayne) in the final showdown with Hastor failed all 4 of his rolls to not die (even with maxed Toughness) and was the only investigator to perish.

This game has great moments....

Im going to have to remember this.

Found Black Goat of the Woods for under the KS price and bought it.
Is Season Two worth getting?
The investigators don't seem to add much, especially when you have the Unspeakable Box.
The additional episodes and board pieces might be nice, but do we need them?
Thank you for your input.

If you are enjoying the core set so much then get the expansion. I'm glad I went all in except the big guy. Now I want the big guy.
