Just played through this haunt and while it was kind of a fun idea it really seemed like they did a much worse job than normal of explaining the rules. There were at least two or three things in the rules that we never did figure out and we kind of didn't finish the haunt properly because it came down to "If this is the rule the traitor wins, but if that is the rule the hero win."So first off:
[o]What happens when a hero who is carrying the concoction comes across the conventionally dead body of an inhabitant or another hero? Or for that matter the body of the traitor?
We had multiple occasions where a reanimated inhabitant attacked a hero on the monster turn, but lost the fight and then died. But it's the same question if the hero just attacks and kills an inhabitant through some conventional means.
So then on the hero's turn they can't do their concoction speed attack to permanently kill the inhabitant because it's already dead. (The traitor hasn't had a chance to reanimated it again yet.) That doesn't seem right. Why can't I inject my syringe of zombie killing serum into a corpse but only into the one that's fighting back? I assume you can somehow kill them because otherwise it's possible for the haunt to become unwinable if the traitor simply never re-reanimated that particular inhabitant. Looks like some people have house ruled that you can use the "Destroy the Reanimated" speed attack on a dead corpse.

Also there it sort of seems like there's an error in the Traitor's Tomb, but I'm unclear:
[o]How exactly does one go about killing the traitor? You can't initially use the "Destroy The Reanimated" speed attack against the traitor because the traitor isn't a Reanimated (yet). If you just kill the traitor normally, it appears that the traitor dies, and then when the traitor's turn rolls back around they are automatically reanimated. Ok, great.
But the Traitor's Tomb clearly says "You do not reanimate if you are killed by a hero carrying a vial of the concoction." It doesn't say you can't reanimated if you were killed by a hero who USED the concoction. It says carrying. So in our game the traitor got killed by a hero who used a sanity attack from an Omen card and who was carrying around a vial of the concoction. (The traitor had way more speed than this hero, so attacking with speed seemed like a waste of time to them.) That was fine, cause the traitor was still alive at the time, so still had a sanity, so that should be a legit attack. Is the traitor permanently dead then? Or does the traitor come back and can only be killed permanently by the "Destroy the Reanimated" speed attack, after they are initially killed conventionally? The later interpretation kind of makes more sense thematically, but if that's the case it's a tad frustrating as the Tomb VERY clearly says something else.
Also, what happens if the traitor is dead (even perma-dead), but there are still some reanimated running around? I assume you just keep playing with the reanimated inhabitants fighting the remaining heroes or whatever?

Finally on the inhabitants thing:
[o]We gathered from other posts that the Traitor is in fact allowed to reanimate dead inhabitants as well as dead heroes. That makes sense. But does this only apply to those inhabitants that started out as reanimated during the haunt setup? Or to all inhabitants? All 3 of ours were in play when the haunt started and it was a 4-player game so two were reanimated at the beginning of the haunt and one was just hanging out as a regular inhabitant. That seems to be the setup instructions.
Our traitor ended up going and killing the 3rd inhabitant conventionally and then reanimating it to get a 3rd minion. I assume that's ok? It seems kind of powerful, but I guess it's fine.[/o]
Anyway, still mostly enjoying the game, but really curious how everyone else dealt with this haunt!
