This. We had an 91 year old woman named Oldeena (we missed that the tiny child had a teddy bear and thought it was an old woman) end up being possessed by the spirit of viking rage (and murdered us all). Next game, we played it up that the viking rage had given her immortality to explain her 120+ age. It was made better when Oldeena was the traitor again and we played it up that this immortal viking woman was hired as the personal bodyguard for a cult leader. A bit super villain-ish, but it worked out.

My wife and I also just played with our 4 year old son. We just simply removed the Souvenir cards because of the amount of text and complexity for him. I do like the idea of adding a 3rd action card to the hand and even simpler scoring, since he couldn't quite grasp the colored treasure set concept.

I'm considering starting a game of Betrayal Legacy.

As we discuss scheduling, it's become clear that some of my players are already in other games of Betrayal Legacy, or are planning to be in other games of Betrayal Legacy.

Is this a problem? Will they be spoiled?

Yeah but this is bs. "My baby hugged a demon doll to death" I can't stand not taking this game seriously... It's why I bought the damn thing to take it's Haunted House motif seriously

I can tell you one thing. I just played our second game. If I had known how the monster actually worked, I would have done things very differently and possibly won instead of lost the game.

There will be a lack of surprise and some things will be the same between different campaigns of BL. That being said, I expect the replay value of a single "box" of BL to be high, Similar to that of the original.

I think I would be willing to play another campaign, but I would have to purposefully not spoil things like how certain haunts work.

Some people certainly will not enjoy multiple campaigns.

I searched that card in the rules but no one seems asking that question:

Magic Talisman (From the KS Treasure Trove deck):
"Play After you get knocked over by a fireball"

what about being knocked over by a single snake? The talisman does not work in that case?

and what about being knocked over by a cataclysm that makes fall down ember marbles, fireballs and snakes? or what about bees?

You could just, use a sheet of paper (as decorated as you feel artsy) with the stat numbers along a number line and keep a marker on each number
(or use scraps of paper or whatever). and just denote what color your family is so that you use the same crest stickers, etc.

Each Legacy session has the opportunity to "fork" between two or three haunts* - there's a chance they'll play different haunts in yours compared to theirs, but yes, if they do get a haunt they've seen before that will almost certainly ruin it for the other players (there's stuff that the other side is intended not to know and that will give a huge advantage for knowing).

*I'm not considering this a spoiler given it's how "base" or original Betrayal works: the specific haunt you play is selected based on how it's triggered.

After Chapter 5 does the hellscape cards become a free play deck or a campaign only deck?

If a haunt specific action requires you to make an attack (for example attacking a room in Haunt 86). Can you still attack an opponent normally that turn?

If yes:
How do I know that attacking an opponent is a haunt specific action and not an attack?

So my wife and I really enjoy pandemic iberia. We purchased legacy.

Two games in, game was over within 3 outbreaks. Both times we had two epidemics within the first 12 or so cards (bottom of one pile and top of the next). Both times we immediately drew the infected city to intensify. I've never had so much desire to play a game sapped in such short time. Our board has lots of pretty stickers though!

We were playing the scientist and researcher - there's obviously no mitigation like water tokens, etc, so it's completely luck of the draw. We couldn't even get to the cities we needed to get to let alone treat anything.

Losing a game from 3 outbreaks is actually an odd blessing in disguise. Often lost games have 8 outbreaks--8 permanent increases to panic levels--so 3 is very good. And also you have the benefit of 2 game end upgrades and increased funding next time. That is very nice on the spectrum of bad luck. :D

It's not realistic to expect to win ALL of your Pandemic Legacy games. Bad luck can strike at any time--it's what keeps the game from being too predictable.

Can you explain the statement "Both times we immediately drew the infected city to intensify" ?

I would make sure you're doing epidemics properly. When you hit the epidemic you

1) MOve up the infection rate marker one space (this is the track right below the infection deck)

2)Draw a card from the BOTTOM of the infection deck and put 3 cubes on it, then add that card to this discard pile.

3)Shuffle the entire discard pile and place it back on top of the infection deck.

(sorry if I'm rehashing anything you already know as I've not played Iberia to know what the differences are).

Also, in order to lose by outbreak you need 8, not 3. Two epidemics in the first 12 cards isn't out of the ordinary and should not be an auto loss.

My group just finished October this past weekend and we are 9 for 12 (won 9 lost 3) so far. So either you are having pretty bad luck or you're doing something wrong.

How do you lose a game from 3 outbreaks? Are we talking about running out of infection cubes or player cards?

But (and I ask sincerely) does the game take itself seriously?

So, as a iberia player, I was playing completely wrong. I had no idea about curing meaning you can remove all disease cubes in a city when you treat it. I also had no idea you could eradicate. I read it before hand, but in the heat of the game, we just played it like iberia. It made the game much easier. We also forgot to give ourselves upgrades. This playthrough was much, much different.
