I haven’t made any concrete decision yet, but I think I’m going to go with a Scottish family. Something beginning with a Mac or Mc, with first names like Hamish or Jamie or Elspeth.

With the Fireball Island artwork printed on them? A blank box on the shelf is pretty ugly and doesn't inform anyone of the game inside. And a magic marker doesn't cut it, either.

Just sayin' :)

Maybe it’s a feature. Kinda like scratched marbles.

Haven't gotten my copy yet but I think I'm going to re-enforce it with really thin wood.

Have not opened anything else though.

I chose Gold, but even though all the gold family values can rise to 8 I think it's the most difficult family to play as.

I figured there had to be some drawback to picking that one. I’m still going with it though - to be fair. (Not cuz of my game skills but because it was my initial instinct.)

I'll be the Clone family. Or... The Klone, really.

I find that really amusing.

While I have not yet decided, how I tend to pick names for games is I pick a theme and go with it.

Theme seems like a really good way to go. It would also help with all the family members you have to name as the game progresses. I tend to get stuck and name things I can see in my line of sight. Here’s pile O papers, progeny of squirrel and parent to glue stick. :(

They’ll have a good weight when saying them out loud or adding them to curses. Elspeth MacXxxxx of the clan MacXxxxx met their fate by the curse of Hamish. That’ll work nice.

(Not that the curse of pile O papers doesn’t bring with it a certain sense of dread...)

Two of the spots o the left board for snakes arnt dimpled so the marbles wont stay there, much sad. Any way to create a dimple without damaging it?

I suggested to make the bee hive have a funnel Cap you can take off the hive and use but it was ignored :<

One of mine on that side is the same. I understand the snakes are supposed to be precarious so that they can leave their dimple easily as if running from fireballs, but it should at least stay put until then. One of mine does not.

The repair of this would need to involve heat. But to much heat could burn a hole though or catch the board on fire. There are warnings on the box and in the manual about keeping the board away from any heat source. To much pressure and the dimple wou become to deep for the snakes to run away like they should. It was very frustrating trying to place those two snakes and we finally just moved the one to hang out in a flat portion of the river.

I know I have bad sight but this is silly. Apparently the dimples are there just the print is a bit off on them, had to really stand over it to notice the spots

We’ll play tomorrow so I don’t have anything to contribute yet but I’m curious what names people have been coming up with 🙂

Also before actually playing did anyone have preferences stat wise for a particular color? Looks like yellow goes up to the highest values in all 4 traits and is pretty average in their starting values. I might pick that one if it’s left after everyone else chooses.

We chose the Cromwell, Richter, and Bellisarius families:).

I don't have the card in front of me but if it says "once per turn" then, yes only once per turn. If it just describes the action, they can do it as often as is feasible.

Simplicity of rules - so you don’t have to track which adventurer has which snapshot. If you feel like it’s too easy, it’s certainly ok to use the normal restriction and track them for each adventurer.

You score all of your snapshots if one of you makes it to the helipad.

You can not take the same guild action twice, and without a modifier you only get 3 gold from a single tax action.

As Mike said, Broken Token has said they'll be doing an insert. Just wait for that -- it'll be the best box reinforcement possible.

Did anyone else get warped island boards? They simply won't sit flat on the table. Yes, I saw the heat exposure warning on the box, but I can assure you that the weather here is quite cool (and I just received it). Just seeing if this common, or I need to contact Quartermaster/Restoration.

Thanks in advance
