Thanks. That would have changed our games quite a bit. I did not get sticker C. I also did not get sticker 16, which I assume is the same thing for the game board. Those doors didn't even exist on my dossiers.

the stickers would have been in the ME box along with the cards, not in the dossier. if you want to see what they look like/say, check out the link i posted above :)

No limit.

This is particularly useful for the "pickup/produce/pickup" single action chain.

[o]starting supply centers

if you use these, do they count towards the mandatory objective? Or do you still need to build a further 3 supply centers to complete the objective?[/o]

[o]I had the same question. But the sheet on which they're supplied is explicit that they don't.

Plus the Objective card in question (mid/end February anyway - I haven't been any further yet, so I have no idea whether that number is permanent) says "Build 3 new supply centers" (my emphasis). Permanent Supply Centers established at the end of a previous game are are not "new" - nor do we "build" them (they're placed during set up). So, no - we still have to build 3 more.

Note:
If I have one criticism of the physical organisation of the game so far, it's that the sheet in question (which it would be very easy to just throw away once all the stickers have been used) has at least two points of information on it that should have been added to the rules book - one of which persists even when the stickers have all been used (i.e. place a Supply Center during set up). I'm guessing it's been done to keep the number of dossier sheets down, but it's a definite flaw.[/o]

I know it's has been awhile,but have you finished it and placed the Venus map on RISK 2210 tracker. I'm waiting to play on it and Mercury when they are done. Question? I might have missed it, but why the Grey territories are there. I would of thought the southeastern Grey "island" would be attached to the land to the north and the other is "island" is attached to the red territory to the north. Just a suggestion. If you already explained why sorry.

OK - so small that, initially, it's barely a spoiler at all. But.
[o]
At least one of the windows in the Dossier delivers new board stickers. The small adhesive sheet on which they arrive has at least two Rules relating to them printed on it. There are no comparable stickers to add to the Rules booklet.

I have to presume that there will likely be further such sheets as the game progresses, and that there will therefore be an increasing number of minor Rules points tucked away on random, small pieces of loose paper, waiting to be unintentionally discarded or lost.

I'm tempted to transfer the bulk of the sticker in question to some kind of Rules "Addendum" sheet, and just jot a cross-reference in at the relevant points in the Rule Booklet - but I wondered whether anyone had been there before, and, if so, what you did and how it went?

I can't easily say more without giving away at least some information, so the following spoiler has details of when the stickers become available, and a nested spoiler on the actual stickers and related rules.
[o]
Spoiler for mid-February/March:
[o]
These are the Permanent Supply Center stickers which become available as Game End Upgrades. The sheet on which they are printed contains Rules relating to their effect on game set up and is also explicit on their (lack of) effect on particular Game Objectives. The first is near-trivially obvious; the second less so. And both ought to be in the Rules booklet.

Yes the first loss was outbreaks.

Great game.

We have funding level of 6 for the next. We picked a shitty group of roles tonight. Overthought it.

I'm sure this has been covered, but now I forget, and I cannot remember where I saw it answered. Feel free to refer me to a page number in this thread if this exact situation has been covered already:

Spoilers through the end of April:

[o]1. Suppose a border Coda city outbreaks and spills into a non coda city. For example, Black is Coda, and Cairo has 3 faded figures on it. Khartoum is yellow, not faded, but has 3 yellow cubes on it. Cairo is drawn from the infection deck, causing it to outbreak into Khartoum, which puts a faded figure in Khartoum, and makes it a faded city. That doesn't result in an outbreak in Khartoum, right? There would just be 3 yellow cubes still sitting in Khartoum along with the faded figure? And then, drawing the Khartoum card from the infection deck would still not cause an outbreak, it would just add a second faded figure. And then if Khartoum is drawn from the infection deck again, that would result in a 3rd faded figure? At that point there would be 3 faded figures and 3 yellow cubes? Then, a 4th faded figure would obviously cause an outbreak of faded figures and would fade nearby yellow cities into coda. But if instead, when there were 3 faded figures and 3 yellow cubes on Khartoum, and Lagos has an outbreak, that would then cause Khartoum to have a yellow cube outbreak as normal, sending yellow cubes everywhere, including Cairo? (Ignore for the moment how unlikely that situation is. It's technically not impossible.)

2. Similar question, but not quite. Same example as above, but it's neighboring Algiers that has 3 cubes (black ones, as it is not yet a faded city). As before, Cairo has 3 faded figures and has an outbreak, sending a faded figure into neighboring cities, including Algiers. This makes Algiers a faded city. Does THAT trigger an outbreak in Algiers? Yes, right? A black Coda faded city cannot have 3 of its original black cubes and a faded figure on it, right? [/o]

At the same time, it's easy to see that other groups might not end up searching Buenos Aires for months and months (even if you reconned South America in February, the Buenos Aires card might end up near the bottom of the deck repeatedly).

The difference between those situations is one cube per player per make supplies action which is huge in the context of the early game.
[/o]

[o]That was us. We didn't find OPAL until November? Maybe October.

We won with the best possible ending.

There's a lot of powerful things you can find to help out.[/o]

[o]No doubt - I think my point is simply that some groups aren't going to find the cool stuff early (whether by overly timid play, or just bad luck) and therefore they're going to have to confront the game with only the basic tools

Meaning that their game (in the early months at least) is way more difficult than ours has been [/o]

[o]This is my primary complaint having finished. It's not that you and I could have different experiences in the way of, "Oh, you chose this and not that and that lead to something I never experienced, cool!" The variance is, "Oh, you never got this research station until near the end and so you got steamrolled for months? We got it early and this game became boringly easy." Not quite so black and white, but you get the point. The variation isn't skill based or story based, it is definitely dependent on luck of the draw sometimes.[/o]

Answers to April spoilers above.

[o]1. All of this is correct. You can look in the first post under the April spoilers for the clarification. Non-coda/non-faded cities can become faded but do not convert existing cubes.

2. Yes this results in an outbreak because the way a coda city converts cubes is that first the city becomes faded and converts any existing coda cubes in that city when you would have to place a faded figure and then you actually place the figure. So first convert because you are going to add the figure. Then add the figure, in my your example resulting in an outbreak.[/o]

So, in regards to how do we keep track of stuff that isn't added into the rulebook?

The specific case you gave wasn't an issue for us at all (which I discuss a little more in the spoiler below). But, my general advice is that you should keep your "reserve" well organized. There are lots of different kinds cards that are in the "reserve", even in January. I don't feel that it's a spoiler to say that you will end up putting a lot of cards in the reserve by the end of the game. We kept different sections of the reserve for:

* Cards which aren't in the game yet, but might be part of the game in future games (rationed event cards, for example)
* Plot cards (diary entries, "new priorities", ...)

Spoiler for other types of cards, and things in the reserve, probably no spoilers past February:
[o]
* Important reference cards (that I won't mention by name, even in a spoiler tag)
* City cards for areas that have been recon'd but not added
* Character upgrades
* Card upgrade stickers
* Scar stickers
[/o]

For your specific example: (spoiler for end of February, if I recall correctly)
[o]With regards to your specific examples of permanent supply centers, it was never an issue for us. Permanent supply centers are so important that we would certainly never forget to put them on the board. And the stickers are there on the board to remind you as well. And the same for the effect on the 3 new supply centers objective. The objective explicitly says "new supply centers", so the text of the permanent supply center really is just there to remind you that a supply center that you already built isn't new anymore. It's just a reminder/clarification not a really a rule. It's certainly not something we'd get confused about in a game.[/o]

Overall, I have to say I'm really impressed by the rulebook. It's laid out so that everything is easy to find, and the add on stickers don't even give away too much by where they are. We spent some time in the early game asking ourselves "what rule could they possibly add here?" and never really figured anything out. It made setup really easy, was really clear, and was a good reference in the cases where we needed to look something up.

One easy to miss one is the sail/charter boat action, which is almost like the direct/charter flight action in regular Pandemic... but here, it can only be done in ports, and between two cities that are connected by sealanes.

I read the rules carefully, played the prologue a few times, and checked the rules again afterwards, and was clear on that rule. But my wife and I have been playing for a few games now, and I must admit that we'd still been lulled into forgetting it - because it doesn't come into play at first. All of the initial locations are linked by sea routes. I don't think it's something we've actually got wrong - but it easily could have been.

[o] One of the lore cards (one that talks about the havens going dark) explains that the Indian Ocean Haven went silent after the "fallout" there. My assumption is a nuclear strike or something and the area is radioactive or something.[/o]
