Well, that info turned out to be wrong. Cards F, G, and H are added as a result of exploring certain island locations. Card O should have been added as a result of completing a milestone. So I'll add O to the deck. I think we're going to finish the campaign without adding F, G, and H.↧

So let me ask something. Why is this person the runaway leader? Have they played before and the rest of you haven’t? Are they doing things like getting all the milestones before anyone else? Are they exploring heavily to get islands revealed, rewards and glory, while everyone else is trying to build towards something in theory grander but then the leader hits the glory target and it’s game over? In short, what are they doing differently please?↧

by number_eight
I had to quickly move our game from the table and something might have been misplaced.I just finished August, but when I connected Tehran to the grid, I noticed that I didn't have the city or infection cards for any of the Middle East cities. I still have boxes 2, 3, and 8 unopened. Did I miss instructions somewhere?
And at the end of August, I also got the character upgrade that mentions hollow men -- but we haven't encountered hollow men yet.
Hopefully I only missed a single box and not much is ruined.

Already completed the game. At he time we didn't have a military character so yes we really could skip that objective because we couldn't build those bases anyways. Obviously we had to change at least once but we rode the same few characters through most of the game and we enjoyed the connection we had with them, to each there own. We still ignored the military aspect as much as possible which helped in the end.↧

On the edict that involves trumps, does the trump have to be "broken" before it is led? Or can trump be led at any time (other than the initial trick)?↧

I haven't played Indulgence, but I understand a Trump can be led by flattery.

I don't think it's supposed to be possible to to have the map sticker that includes the city you mentioned (i.e. sticker 62) without having opened package #2.The starting map tells you that when you do the Recon from Cairo, you should open package #2.
At the start of August:
[o]Legacy card 08-01 is a Perimeter Report, with a box to scratch off if you have not opened [62] (Middle East map). The scratch-off says:
[o]Open package #2, but destroy the unrationed event "Renewal" inside[/o]
Also:
08-02 Tells you to immediately spend up to 3 production points on new character abilities (before supplying the grid)
08-03 Tells you to open doors [M] and [25] (which are the rules for the "Monitor" action)
08-04 Is the Frequency Scanner, which you use for the Monitor action[/o]
Package #2 contains
[o]P2-01Recon Report; open doors [62] [53] [F] [14]
P2-02Unrationed Event: Renewal (Place character ability worth (2) or less on a character in play;
may place over a scar)
P2-03Player Card:Baghdad (“search” scratch-off)

I don’t remember reading in the rules that the trump had to be broken. I think the only restriction was the initial trick.

Reply: Pandemic Legacy: Season 2:: Sessions:: Re: After the end: a full game report in sessions (whole game spoilers... eventually)
On to September. There were some major changes. We brought Esteban, Sophia, Jeremy, and Gaga.
We've been assuming that the contents of Box 6 would show back up eventually, and boy, did they. We found out that they were coming, moved all our supplies around, and ended up spread incredibly thinly.
Our hollow man draws though were again incredibly lucky, with multiple draws in which 3 or more HM cards came out together, which made it possible to avoid much of their presence. We were initially hoping to do the recon and the research centre in Jakarta, but we ended up settling for just the research centre, as we got a new mandatory objective that we had already completed, which mean we couldn't get enough cards to build the centre, and then build it, without completing the game or wasting a LOT of turns in between whilst we painstakingly pulled the reds out of the discard.
We were fortunate in drawing any-coloured Chicago early on, which meant we only had to pick up two reds to win (using Jeremy to build) which we did, in pretty short order, I think only taking 4 turns each, and skipping half the epidemics using Monitors.
EVen then, the Plague came back with a vengeance, leaving us on 5 incidents, more than I think we've had in the last 3 games combined - though we ended up without any actual plague thanks to companions.
Endgame upgrades put a permanent centre and tower in Jakarta, upgraded a couple of places, and put Lockdown on Manila.
Successful, but I suspect the endgame is going to get VERY tough.
And again, slightly disappointed that the new characters just don't seem that useful. We debated the Sanitation Engineer for the ability to get reds out of the discard, but we have two plus ways of doing that already (Esteban and Sophia, plus Gaga for CHicago), so it didn't seem valuable, and we only needed to pick up two reds to win in addition to Chicago.

You meet at a friends house.... what will you do?
26th January 2018
A weekend with nothing planned. Not rugby, not saving the world not anything! Next thing I know I am around Andy's house playing games.
Also around Andy's house was the shifty looking Peter and the gothic intentioned Chris. Chris had brought with him a block box and as soon as he opened it we were warped into a terrifying world of horror nostalgia. A team of four were we and escaping the castle was our task. We would face drunk jailers, knights, doppelgangers and collapsing stairs. Many times we would have to test our wits with dice or fight statistics. After successful combat we were treated to new goodies. We were armed with a collections of weapons that would not put a poorly stocked vending machine to shame. Even rotten apples were welcome. The game was as rubbish as the castle; the narrative and experience were as captivating as a bear trap. Chris had lost his heartbeat and could no longer assist. Andy had made peace with the castle when his final drop of blood hit the floor. The heroics of both me and Pete were enough to defeat the Master of Darkness. This fable is certainly one I would like to relive (or possibly die) again.
After escaping the dark castle it was time to take life a bit slower and think of retirement.
The seagulls gull, the fishermen fish and the retired eat. The one certainty in Nusfjord is that you will go fishing! The question is what will you do with all that fish? You can feed your Elders for their wise wisdom, you can help build up the town or if you leave the fish in your house long enough you can throw them back in the sea. Nusfjord is also covered in forests and from them you can get wood. Nusfjord is full of surprises, who would of thought you would have a thriving business? You can sell your shares and stocks for money and the purchaser of those shares will be rewarded with a dividend of fish. All and more in Nusfjord where the choices are limited as you place out one of your three workers in each of the 7 rounds.
Andy:
Andy didn't understand the ways in Nusfjord to begin with. It didn't take long for him to realise that fish was the currency of the town. With an impressive fleet and many bonuses for his ships Andy would finish in the bottom two.
Peter:
Peter joined in building his fleet. He built the lighthouse that would make his fish available immediatley. It was natural for Peter to build a market hall to trade his fish and score an impressive amount.
Chris:
Fish was of no interest for this wood merchant. Chris would sell off his forest for gold by using his wood trade building and when he reforest he would get more gold and fish thanks to his forest lake hut. This is all Chris did, a simple, yet effective, combination had placed him in second.
Adam:
I knew that the money was in the shares so I sold my shares to become rich. I invested my fortune into a fishing fleet and as my fleet grew so did my income thanks to the sailor. I finished my town with a fish market and the harbour installation. Being rich was it's own success, being first was the best.
After a big fish meal the bones were picked at. Andy commented that the game is about getting the best combination. He is not wrong. The game played quick and was very satisfying. The final response was that the game was a gentle sail rather than a tense river rapid ride.
Friday night gaming was a success! What would be next?
27th January 2018
So I had another free afternoon....
Why is the Great Western Trail so great? Your main source of company are cows and the people you meet on your way are obsessed with their careers. The cowboys get you better cattle, the craftsmen help you set up shop and the engineers make your train move along. I always rush to Kansas to export my cows for cash. My dream was to make it to San Francisco where I would receive the most money for my cows. I was playing with Mark who was new to the game. He soon got on the saddle and understood the game.
Knowing that Mark was inexperienced at cow herding I played with little focus and picked up the odd wandering cow, moved my train towards Kansas and built some houses next to the rapids. The rapids may not be considered prime location but the rewards they offer are worth the price. You trade in a Jersey cow for a ribbon and money! The more me and Mark visited Kansas the more career men offered their services and the more profitable trading with the Indians was. Mark's train was slow behind me and I was able to pick up most of the station bonuses. When I had the chance I learned to travel the Western Trail with more cows allowing me to export to cities further across the USA. It was an undisputed win for me but Mark was truly won over by the game. The trek across the west was challenging yet short with two. This game truly deserves all the ribbons and accolades it gets.
After racing down the Great Western Trail on horseback, it was time for a higher octane challenge.
It was the start of pre-season formula one and with Ursula there were three teams bidding on the cars on offer. Each vehicle had a special manoeuvre that we would have to take in to consideration when bidding. We were limited with our currency we had which would also be the gas that powered our cars. Ursula had won three vehicles, I had won team blue and Mark had the remaining two. Each car also has a powerful gas charge that could be used each game. We played with a hand of five which limited our options as we raced. Mark started off super-charging one of his cars to begin with and he would remain upfront for the majority of the race. I focused on my blue car to keep in the race but with Ursula over taking me I was struggling. When you play a card you move the vehicles listed on that card from fastest to slowest. You can hear the roars of the engine until a competitor gets stuck behind you in a bottleneck turn. You place a bet for which vehicle you may win at three separate intervals. The bets are lucrative so if you see your car losing you will bet on your competitor. That was at least the logic of Mark and Ursula who bet on three different vehicles and I only bet on my own. I had all my energy in team blue and despite coming second in the race I had won the game. One small investment, a modest race win and a nice amount of winnings from betting had edged me over Mark's car winning. The race itself was quite intense as you had to manoeuvre outside of bottlenecks and move your competitors cars towards the finish line. The race had a nice streamlined dynamic created with all the contradicting aims. We were all enthralled and energised by the race and were keen to go again!
Sadly, my free time had come to an end. My racing day was over but extremely enjoyable.

Thread: Pandemic Legacy: Season 2:: Rules:: Potential Rule Flub (Late-April) (Spoilers)
by GobletOfGore
I just finished my late April game where we won the game with the following objectives completed:[o]1.Access a Lost Haven
2.Build 3 Supply Centers
3.Complete 2 Search Actions[/o]
We completed Objective 1 on our 3rd to last turn. But, I think we did not actually complete it.
[o]We did the coastal search action in Lima and added the new Haven to the map. BUT, we didn't actually have somebody drive/ferry to the Haven.[/o]
We were so excited about our discovery that we didn't think about what else the word "Access" entailed. If we knew that we needed to actually Drive/Ferry there, we may have played our turns differently. I'm not sure if we had the cards to do it, but we probably could have even done it the turn after we "Won".
So here's my question:
[o]Should we treat the haven as accessed (Open Package 6, name the Haven) before we start our next game, or should we leave it to be explored/accessed again? Does this have a huge impact on the game?[/o]
I'm not overly afraid of spoilers, unlike the rest of my game group, so if you need to spoil a bit of May to answer my question, then go right ahead.
Thank you all so much in advance. Love this community - it's my first post here.

That's right my mistake. I believe my thinking at the time was without a military person, we couldn't use the bases for travel anyways so it was a lot of actions for something we couldn't all use even if we switched one person out. It's all moot now but I think our strategy really helped. Wentinto Nov with only one military base and we finished with no fallen one collapsing and only lost two first half months (Unlucky March, too much to
do in Dec)

You probably ought to move this part into the spoiler block:[o]We were so excited about our discovery that we didn't think about what else the word "Access" entailed. If we knew that we needed to actually Drive/Ferry there, we may have played our turns differently.[/o]
Yes, you did it wrong. Based on the advice from the rule book, you should just continue play from where you left off, ignoring the mistake, and without trying to 'correct' it. It does say if you made things too hard or too easy you can adjust funding. In this case, you probably don't need an adjustment.
[o]Just pick up play where you left off, the haven sticker is on the board, but you haven't technically accessed it and haven't opened package 6. You don't have the Access a Lost Haven objective since you destroyed it after completing it. Basically, it's a wash since you won the game a bit too easily, but won't know what's in package 6 until you access it in the next game.[/o]
Oh, and have a blast. My group is playing December tonight, and I am looking forward to it.
