An upgrade pack. No one complete must buy game ;)

That's a nice thought but I'm pretty sure there will be a whole new game.

Dealing with the variety of states that the game can end in after Season 1 would be too much to balance. Plus a clean slate allows for lots more changes.

well if you take out the board, the cities cards and the epidemic cards that will be great!! :D

Thanks! That's how we played. It just seemed od there was nothing telling us to destroy the search chart after the target was found.

You're not told to destroy the search chart (it seems that, like the mission briefings, we get to keep those as souvenirs of our year). But you are told to destroy the search objective.

Nothing specific normally ends your turn.
What happens is you gradually get restricted on what other actions you can do, that you end up not having anything left to do except end your turn.

Most of it is "not doing the same thing again".

You can explore a new room with an icon once on your turn, so once you do that no more moving (about teh only one which is a little strange).
You can attack once on a turn. So once you attack , no more attacking.
You can interact with an item once on your turn. So once you pick up, exchange, or drop an item. No more of that.
You can use each item once on your turn, so once you roll the dice on an item, no more doing that.
You can attempt a roll once on your turn. So once you roll for something, you can't roll for it and try again (e.g. vault, closet)

Unless the books specify it ends your turn, I'd suggest that the ritual can be done once a turn, but shouldn't preclude you from doing a myriad of other legal moves on your turn.

This is true in a world with unlimited resources and energy. Which I think we are not.

Yep. You try to infect the adjacent cities. You advance the outbreaks counter. You scar anybody standing there.

The only difference is that when you come to increase the panic level it's already maxed out. So you don't increase the panic level and don't add a new sticker. And, having already fallen, it doesn't fall again. People standing there may get scarred, but at least they're not automatically Lost.

Optionially you also say something like "It's their world now, we're just living in it" then keep going to see which character dies before Season 2. :)

Correct, it doesn't apply to starting hands.

You are missing the biggest contributor to PL's rise, which is that only people predisposed to liking it can play it. You, or someone close to you, needs to buy the game and play it, and people who are wary of the Legacy system (as well they should) just flat out don't get to try it.

You can go to a meetup, or a convention, or just to a friend's house and play agricola; at which point you can go "meh" and rate it a 7. You can't do that with PL, there's a fee at the door, and people who aren't already sure about it are hesitant to pay. This skews the rating in favor of PL. Which is a shame.

This is a surprisingly good point, formulated in a radical way so I can't exactly quote it. Replacing "can" and "can't" by "is really unlikely to" would go miles in making yourself heard.

[o] It says you can take a shuttle flight action between any two structures. Any two structures is pretty explicit. The fact that military personnel take Military shuttle flights is not relevant at this character is taking a shuttle flight. [/o]

Maybe an outbreak in either map should increase the panic level of the Legacy map

I cannot see how these questions can possible help explain the quick rise to the top. However, I'll keep an open mind and wait for the analysis of the results.

January minor spoilers...

We just played early January. We lost - we ran out blue cubes. We also maxed our outbreak counter. So many of our cities are panicking, but no rioting yet!

My husband said I am not handling the game well, he said if I was in the CDC (or other Atlanta based disease management organization) I would be sitting in middle of the middle east in my Land rover in tears.

He also found great joy in destroying our first card. Here is hoping our early failure does not doom us or the world...

I really don't mind what game is a that top position much. The top 10 has so much variety it's super unlikely anyone would have those 10 games in their personal top 10s, it's a collection of opinions and rankings.

What annoys me a little is the low amount of votes P:L has so far. It's super recent, so obviously there won't be as many votes as other games, but I feel like Twilight Struggle having ~5 times as many votes should carry some more weight. And both have meta-rating idiotic hate-ratings trying to bring them down.

Given the impossible task it is trying to accomplish, the BGG ranking really isn't doing too bad. Comparing Twilight Struggle, Pandemic: Legacy, Mage Knight, Codenames, Android: Netrunner, Go and Paths of Glory in the same top 100 is just impossible to do in a way that everyone would agree with the method of ranking, let alone the results...

So yeah, my only minor complain would be that if the list is trying to be some sort of all time best-of, it should be harder to disrupt an established game with a newer game with significantly fewer rankings. But as is, the list is still useful to me, and things like Dice Tower's People Choice each year complement it pretty well.

The second positive mutation must be put on a disease that already has the first mutation, so the first mutation means you don't have to be on a station and the second one means that same disease no longer takes an action to cure.

Isn't there only one sticker for each positive mutation? (I am only in March currently, so don't spoil anything after March).

If there is only one sticker for each mutation, then only one disease could ever get any of the mutations.

If there are multiple first mutation stickers, then I either overlooked them, or I don't have them all.

Those stickers are on the big sheet of stickers, the one with your panic level stickers, player upgrades, scars etc. There are multiples of level 1, less level 2 and only one level 3 if I remember correctly.
