It sounds like you are saying there is an epidemic every 7 cards, are you sure you are "Stretched to thin" correctly?

It is specifically city cards not player cards.

If you have 6-8 produce supplies and say 4 events, then stretched to thin should work out "about the same" as game 1 depending on where you are within the bracket, being at the top of the bracket if obviously better.

Now March and April are really hard because your supplies are dwindling and you have probably not found the solution to that yet.

Contrary to what other people have said I don't think forsaken cities are that bad, they are a city you don't need to worry about until you choose to bring them back which can save a lot of supplies over the course of the campaign, now obviously if it is a city you need to recon from then it is a problem, I would rather spend my XP making my characters better.

As other people have said manipulating the player deck is super important (read as: Brooker is super useful).
