I try to use everything, but I have only played 4 games so far. I have either omitted the golden idol and honeypots, or reduced the honeypots points value (to make them less valuable). The only thing I have used so far from the Treasure Trove is the secret goals, and only used the Crimson Cutlass twice.
Implementing the Hangry, Injury, and advanced Souvenirs felt like it would only overcomplicate the game for many of the first-timers, so I have yet to use them (many of whom were also family members who do not really get into board games).
I am planning to use as many of the components as I can at a game convention happening later this year, to give those playing the complete 'All-Inclusive' experience tour for Fireball Island. I'm sure they will be able to handle the heat.
