I know we were repeatedly told during the Kickstarter campaign that the board would not be shiny like the pre-production copy they showed us. But I feel like my copy truly glistens. Anyone else experience this? Or did I just get a lemon?
You are not seeing things.
Mine is also shiny.
And I thought the same thing as you.
So far the sheen hasn't bothered me but yeah one wonders what it would look like in a matte finish.
It's a nice board.
But yeah it's shiny no questions asked no matter what the light source. Overhead, Table Lamps, Photo lights is what I've used so far.
Maybe the board is more durable being shiny compared to vacuformed out of matte plastic(?)
I was thinking earlier today players will be thinking of which matte spray to use.
It might be difficult to spray all of it with all the nooks & crannies and nuances on the board imho
I haven't sprayed anything in a long long time.
The white cave numbers are hard to read at first but once you know where they're at it's OK.
I mentioned in other posts the art on my beach side isn't registered. it's stretched. but I'm fine with it. it kind of personalizes it. some defects or misprints on games and collectibles and such can bother me and other things don't for some reason. for example I have no problem with the box. a lot of others do.
but to stay on topic...
I don't have Crimson Cutlass. but your pic definitely looks more of a matte finish.
