So, I finished the game about half hour ago. I’m a Pandemic addict. Absolutely love the series and Legacy S1, like many people is one of the best I played. Controversially, S2 bores me in comparison. There are some amazing developments in the last four months in
Particular. I liked the new twist in the gameplay mechanic but the first six months dragged, and were unfairly difficult at times. It almost felt like the game wanted you to lose, so you could then upgrade your character in order to win in an effort to prolong the experience. This mechanic, for me felt forced. Particularly noticeable in March / April. My biggest bugbear with the entire experience is the mandatory objective which overstayed it’s welcome. Instead of new exciting objectives it felt like I was doing the same thing over again for nearly 2/3rds of the game. All of the “fun”, different objectives didn’t really come into it until a lot later, and even when they did - that mandatory objective still felt like a drag and more often than not felt like another mechanic to prolong games
and sapped the fun out of the experience. It also meant that I was chasing so many cards to build supply centres so I didn’t lose, I seldom managed to enjoy some of the other objectives, such as searching until a lot later, which meant I couldn’t actually do them all by the end. By the endgame I’d say I enjoyed about a third of the game in total. For me, It’s the weakest entry in the series. I really hope S3 is better structured and balanced.

Interesting thoughts. I think everyone's experience is slightly different, especially as it relates to difficulty, but I certainly think your point about the objectives is fair. I guess I was so lost in the game and narrative that I didn't care too much about the lack of objective variety during that portion.
