Godstorm uses the same system as 2210 but the cards can be over-the-top. There is one card that sinks the entire continent of Atlantis (with all the armies), another destroys all of the armies in a territory. These cards alone can be devastating. In 2210 the cards are more balanced.Personally I enjoy 2210 but I enjoy the mission version of Risk (especially the Halo Legendary edition with the new maps). We play a variety of Risk games and each has it's own personality. There are times we want the purity of the classic game; it is so decisive. There are other times (for some reason this always occurs in winter) when we play 2210 or the Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, etc. it usually depends on what the majority of the group feels like at the time. (As I write this, I cannot think of the last time we played the world conquest game when there was snow on the ground...maybe the world can only be conquered in the summer.)
Though it does not get played as often, I think 2210 is an excellent version of the game.
