I still love and play Heroscape everytime I can. One of the aspects that I like Heroscape are the different and (often) beautiful minis. Another is the "epic" feel, every afternoon of Heroscape gaming is a long and fun battle with epic proportions.

So, I decided to choose another games to continue this "collection effect". I tried Heroclix, but it did not click with me (sorry, bad pun). As I also like Scifi a lot, I bought Star Trek Fleet Captains and Star Wars: X-Wing. The former satiated the epic aspect while the later brings wonderful (but somewhat fragile) minis and good gameplay. I am really happy with both of them.

Of course, neither of these games (or others that I tried) was able to replace Heroscape, so I continue buying boosters any time I found them. If you really want Heroscape, save money for a few months and then buy some big Heroscape collection in eBay. For the last 2 years, at least once or twice a month, someone sells their entire collection with lots of terrain and minis for reasonable prices.
