Thread: Risk Legacy:: General:: Are we missing out playing with only 3 people? *long*

I really have 3 questions in this post. It's long, so don't read it if you don't want to.

1) So I know the game is meant to be played best with 4-5 players, but that's often hard for me and my friends to pull off. There is a group of six of us who enjoy playing the game, but it is often hard to get more than 3 players off work at the same time to play. We've played 2 of our 3 games with only 3 people, and it makes me wonder if playing with 3 players makes us lose out on a lot of what the game has to offer.

If only 3 people play, you have a maximum of 2 "held on" rewards going on every game. For example, 3 games in, we still have 4 minor cities left to found before we can open the pack. I feel like this makes us lose out on the full potential of some packs, as they will open later in the game.

Would you recommend not playing at all instead of playing with only 3 players, or is it not that big of a deal?

2) We plan on opening the "Do Not Open. Ever." pack on the start of our 15th game, if nothing makes us open it before then. I don't want to know if anything opens it before then, but would you say this is a good idea if it hasn't?

3) If we get through game 15 and haven't opened something like "play when a player places 30+ troops on the board, and has a missile," are you still "supposed" to open the pack on game 16 if it hasn't been opened yet, or are you supposed to just leave it there forever because the game evolution is "supposed" to be over.

Thanks for any answers you guys have...
