I'm also tempted to do a Gladiator bonding squad if I do bonding (but I'd have to up the points a bit for them to be great, with 3 Capuan Gladiators, and I'm not sure I want 600 pt armies).
Exactly. The problem you'll run into when it comes to three-way balancing is that when you address a problem of Player A vs Player B, you've now weakened Player C. So then you address Player C and now the points are all out of whack. So then you try to fix that and the points really start to creep up. Rinse, repeat; it's hard to know where to stop.
The 400 point armies I came up with all sort of do the same thing: A bonded hero that boosts the units adjacent to them. Grimnak is powerful, so he goes against the Romans because they have more numbers. The Romans get Me-Burq-Sa, who has a chance at killing Gilbert from range. And the Knights have a natural 4 defense without being tethered to Gilbert or having to form a wall like the Romans, so they are a bit more flexible tactically, as long as they can move about the map easily.
But it's all theoryscape to be sure...so go test it out and let us know.
