Haunt 7 Spoilers FollowSo, in Haunt 7, the traitor's rules state that any creeper which devours a player is destroyed (removed from the game board).
The victory condition for the heroes is to defeat a number of creepers equal to the number of players in the game (which is the exact number of creepers placed by the traitor) using the plant spray.
This creates a very odd ambiguity which my gaming group couldn't decide on. If the rules are to be read as "the plant spray *must* be used to kill every creeper" then the heroes lose if even a single one of them dies to a creeper. However, if this isn't the case, then if the heroes kill at least two of the creepers, the heroes can "win" by being devoured. Neither of these readings seem entirely right.
For instance, in our game with 5 players (5 creepers, 4 heroes), we made the plant spray and killed 3 creepers in the process. The traitor stole the plant spray, one of us died to the traitor, and another of us was consumed by a creeper, leaving 2 heroes alive and 1 creeper remaining.
By the first reading of the rules, we've already lost since one of the creepers died without being killed by plant spray. This doesn't seem right.
By the second reading, we've effectively won (short of the traitor killing someone), since one of us can sacrificially get devoured, leaving the other hero alive but no creepers remaining. Again, this doesn't seem quite right.
So, are we missing a way of interpreting this?
