The game ramps up in difficulty once you start to get 3 objectives per missions and soon after that you start to accumulate Restrictions that really mess you up.Most people that I've seen or read that think the game is too easy is because they played some roles incorrectly giving them an overpowered edge.
The game is hard because even when you play as effective as possible, sometimes the luck of draw of the escalations, Threat cards, and/or the needed cards to make that damn car team you need, or to clear X unknown location etc, just never comes up the character that needs it and exchanging is just impossible or too far away and by then the game is over, or the card is in the last 2-4 cards making you definitely miss one or even two objectives.
