Any suggestions how to ship one of these within the US? The long, large flat rate Priority boxes (23+ x 11+ x 3) are about a half inch short on height.

It's a sturdy enough box as is. Double-wrap it with brown craft paper and slap a label on it. UPS won't take boxes that are paper wrapped, but the USPS will.

Screw the box.

There are some big boxes that will take an FFG Coffin Box, but, give the buyer the option to pay for the box to get the box, or just everything dumped into a box...

Bet they will take the latter.

Thanks a lot.

If you pass over a player that is knocked down on two legal spaces (next to each other) do you consider both spaces for movement purposes? Do you skip both spaces when counting your movement?

We opened the temple box and found lots of stuff regarding tombs. Not included were any rules regarding how to actually explore tombs. Searching here and on other forums tells me we should have had a sticker for Rule 13 in the box. Could someone share the text of that rule for us?

Don't be so sure. I know that copies with the box sell for more than those that don't, and the better the condition, the higher the selling price. It's gamers, remember.

Thanks you, I also got confirmation from Rob Davaiu.

We did put the Hearth out, my guess is that whoever it was reading, got that far, then we got distracted, probably doing silly voices and getting into character as we were meeting and the next part either didn't get heard or read at all LOL

Thanks for that, do you know if that card said it was to be destroyed at the end of the game or anything? I can't find it and I have been keeping anything not destroyed in a baggie, I assumed it was either that or it got caught up in some of the waste.

Thanks for your help

To my knowledge, the STOP and PAUSE cards don't necessarily say to destroy them, but it's quite possible they would be anyway since they don't need to be saved for anything later.

So... when is the kickstarter going to start? I participated in restoration games fireball island kickstarter and it was a great experience. Can't wait for this one.

Yeah, me either, I'm very excited about this reboot.

I still have a working copy of the original. My dad owned one that we played a lot. This girl in high school I started dating had a copy, and I was pretty excited about that. We're married now, with child. I'm not going to say Dark Tower was the main reason for that, but it was a factor.

Thanks for your interest. We're shooting for October. So far, we're on target to hit that date. We expect to start showing more stuff about game play and design starting next month I think. I can't wait to start letting folks see what we've been working on.

The game gives you tools to thin the deck, and you need to use them aggressively. As you found out, you also need to make sure you keep all four colors available.

I think we really screwed up on the inoculation portion, as we were hesitant about it, as we don't really know what is going to happen in future months if we do incubate. Bad mistake, as we realize in the end we get more control on what sites will appear in the epidemic.

Nice review, but isn't the randomness of the decks basically pandemic in a nutshell?

There was 1 hint earlier about needing a supply center in J-berg, but if you missed it, or forgot about it because it was back in June or whenever that can def. be brutal. Once we had moved into Africa and Asia we started removing blue cards to get the colors we wanted, with out already having that supply center from an earlier month it would have been touch and go to build it.

Awww shucks. Definitely missed that clue about needing to build it then. We actually built one on it in September or something, but didn't put it as a permanent supply center...

It’s worth asking. The Heroscape box is particularly disposable, given that people collect the base set in multiples, and that the box doesn’t even accommodate the game very well once Mimring has been assembled.

I've played a 2p campaign, 6 months of a 2 handed 4p game & we bailed because we realized our choices were to either unlock hollow men months before we gained shelters or lose until the second half of July, and recently finished an undefeated 2 handed 3p game in which we intentionally waited to recon regions the month before the game auto-unlocked them.

Instructor was a crutch til satellites unlocked (besides the first run when we had already invested heavily for easy recons). Of course it combo'd great w Laborer.

Administrator was a crutch til shuttle flight unlocked & a bit of an insurance policy til shelters unlocked. Of course it enabled Instructor/Laborer to combo harder.

Farmer had a narrow window of utility when the infectable grid was large & the first 2 labs hadn't been found.

#1 MVP - Laborer + Architect + Supplier was in every single game of all 3 runs, except for 2p December because we needed to be giving cards, not spending them & didn't know pop was a high score. Only character to consistently increase the pop. In 2p & 4p, we also gave him a fish from discard ability.

#2 Most Improved - Radio Operator was only missed in 2 player games. Broker/Lookout + Outrider sometimes + Scout + Foreman/Navigator.
Pretty much buff the heck out of fishing from discard, reconning, connecting cities using other players' cubes, and searching.

Immunologist was never used. We unlocked havens very quickly, even in our first campaign.

#5 Crowd Control - Scientist was used in September+ w Runner to snipe Box 6 epidemic cards
and 1 pop cities, especially on the path from Lake Balkai to Johannesburg. Each of his special free actions is essentially a 1 cost infection card upgrade!

Captain was never used. There were better ways to travel.

#3 Best Team Player - Vector Control Expert was used in October+ w no upgrades. Only way to prevent October's haven pop loss as a result of Hollow Men Defect + consistently prevent pop loss & scars.

#4 Carried the last 2 months - Sanitation Officer was used in November/December in the most recent run w Outrider + Helmsman. In November, before the second epidemic we had the cards for the final recon, but we wanted to prune the player card deck & hit 43 cities before taking that action. In December, it took about 2 epidemics to find a red player card, but then he made it to Lake Balkai to Johannesburg in 2 turns & only one player had to satellite cards to him.

The penalty when flicking marbles over the island appplies only to the orange ones (fireballs)? For examples if you flick the boulder or snakes over the island there is no penalty, correct?
