Thread: Betrayal Legacy:: Rules:: The Helm ability (spoilers)

It wasn't very clear anywhere I could find. But can you only use the the Helm Rerolls on your own dice? Or could I make someone else reroll their dice? And how many time can a single dice be re-rolled?

We had a situation where the traitor was rolling hot and 2 people made them reroll a single attack twice until it was lower. Did we play this correct?

Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately, once we get them on the boat, we’re at the mercy of folks who we don’t have control over. That said, it’s worth keeping in mind that, as a backer, you get the Treasure Trove for free that folks can’t get in retail at all.

I think you meant You take your turn as normal, you just don’t move. ;)

Yes Play that Helipad Snare!! and Laugh as you take off (and hope H-C doesn't crash and burn into V-K!!! :sauron: )

oh that would have to be a custom Hangry Card! roll the cave die on a 1 you crash into V-K

Did I mention I love Treasure Trove!

You can only use the Helm to reroll your own dice. In the case of a traitor, that means a roll you make for yourself or a monster you control.

That said, your way likely didn't break anything as you can only invoke the helm once per game.

I might be missing something simple, but what exactly does a Burial Mask do? Is it only for events that say take one die of damage, or if I am attacked, do I take one less die of damage, or if I only take 1 I call it 0?

The first case. The are many cards and tiles that say to take "1 die of physical (or mental) damage." You may take the 0 instead of rolling.

There's no FAQ.

See here for an up-to-date FAQ: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2101885/compiled-faq-spoile...

For example:
[o]Haunt 40 has the dolls, and you must silence a room by marking them with Runes, so does that mean you can only silence rooms with runes? Or can you silence any room? The knowledge check is only for rooms in the house, so we assumed you can't silence outdoor areas, is that right?

We ended up just silencing 2 portions of the front hall and kept sending the cat out. [/o]

[o]Rune tokens are often used as catch-all tokens to represent something abstract. In this haunt, it means a tile has been silenced. You can silence any tile provided you make the check. I will admit that the term "in the house" is a bad choice of words there.[/o]

Chapter 1
Haunt 27 (or 37?)

The traitor's tome stated [o]the traitor could ATTACK a second time on their turn if they let out a fierce roar.[/o]
Our traitor was confused by this but did not want to read it aloud and give it away. With the rule that if something seems too powerful, it probably is not correct, she continued on waiting for the trigger to occur.

And as each of us died, we read her book and tried to interpret it. When I read it, I told her that [o]she literally needed to roar and she could attack 2x each turn.[/o]

Was that correct?

Also, we noticed that if the heroes were not [o]next to their traps[/o], it was literally impossible to cause damage with them. Wow! No question there, just was hard.

And we also played that when the heroes defended an attack [o]the berserker did NOT take the damage on the track[/o] even if the hero rolled higher than the traitor. Is that right?

Thanks Rob! Really loving the game. Playing in a group including Darrell Ottery and some other people who met you at Eclecticon a couple of years back.

Thanks for the quick response. Other than heirlooming the Mask, we hadn't used the effect, but it is good to know what it is for. And thanks for the FAQ. That will give us a good place to refer to quickly.

Yep. [o]Just pull a Katy Perry and roar. Our traitor had a great time with that. “Oh, by the way, RRRAAWWRRR!”[/o]

Also, we noticed that if the heroes were not [o]next to their traps[/o], it was literally impossible to cause damage with them. Wow! No question there, just was hard.

[o]Yes, without being right there, it’s nigh impossible to hurt them directly, but there’s a good chance at slowing them, leading to them not getting an attack in... and possibly hurting themselves instead.[/o]

And we also played that when the heroes defended an attack [o]the berserker did NOT take the damage on the track[/o] even if the hero rolled higher than the traitor. Is that right?

Yes, because [o]the Berserker can only be hurt with a weapon and you don’t use weapons when defending.[/o]

Got this after the fact and from what I've seen, Return to the Dark Tower will be a first day backing.

On page 17 it talks about relics and tablets... We havent found any yet but it says tablets are stored in the provinces treadure room and relics are carried on ships... So once you get a relic they take up a hold then and for every subsequent game? They never transfer to the home provence anywhere??

Yes. Well, more or less. The can be transferred between your ships just like goods can. And they can be "transferred" to other player's ships just like goods, too. But not to your province or to a colony warehouse.

It's a building. It uses the building rules. It's own special rules are printed on the tile.

So can you play a movement card just to do the action such as triggering a Cataclysm. If so, would you draw a new card?

In the past I've tried to do game-a-day challenges. My favorite one, though, has been the December one. My family does Advent Calendars, so it sprung out of doing special games, like an Advent Calendar, but then turned into a whole month thing.

This year, I felt inspired enough to actually create a Game-a-Day Advent Calendar for my husband. I asked him for a list of games he'd want to play with me or my daughter. Then I looked at games I want to play with him. I also thought of the games that my daughter says she wants to play or play again. Then I made a calendar list.

Additionally, in the spirit of playing Pandemic: Legacy - Season 1, I bought scratch-off stickers to put over each day, so he'll have to scratch to see what he'll play that day. They silver shavings will be very festive, too.

Found it... The iron alter removes curses when you heal... But that island has no repair.. Can you repair there? Do you have to buy it there? I don't understand how they are related?

Thread: Betrayal Legacy:: Rules:: Do I reset the tiles before each chapter of the campaign?

by Jesse13713

We just finished the prologue last night and the next legacy deck card says to flip it once setup steps 1-7 are complete. I assumed we would be adding to the house as time went on with new tiles only, so my question is: Do the tiles we discovered in the prologue get reset and put back into a pile for the setup phase of chapter 1? Or should I wait until we flip the legacy card for further instructions on adding more tiles? I know there's large time gaps between chapters but I assumed most of the house structure would remain throughout the campaign.

Thanks!
