I've thrifted CLUE DVD, Clue 2002, Clue 2008 Discover the Secrets, so far. I'll eventually come across an inexpensive copy of the 2012 version. There's got to be a good game that can be made combining bits and pieces of each game, even if I have to sleeve the cards (or print new ones) and make up new clue taking sheets.

Has anyone already done this?

The "Build a Structure" part of the rules is probably the best answer:

"If all structures of a type have been built, you may take one from anywhere on the board and move it to your current city."

From this I would imply that the maximum number of research stations you can have at a time is the number of physical plastic research stations you have (at game start, 6). If you have more than 6 starting stickers, you will have to choose which 6. If you want to build more, you can, you just lose one of the ones you currently have.

However, the rule is more ambiguous than most in that it does require implication. It would be more clear if it stated that the city you move it from will no longer have a research station. I don't think there is much doubt that this is the intent in practice, however.

Simply put, with the information you currently have at the end of February all you know is:
The plastic pieces are research stations. The stickers are not.
You can only ever have 6 research stations on the board, regardless of the number of stickers.
You can only ever have research stations in cities with unrest 0 or 1.

Those points answer all your questions.

This may or may not remain the number one game for all time.

But the reason it is number one, in my opinion, is because it is the first gateway legacy game.

It has introduced so many people to the legacy concept, myself included, that never would have noticed or read what "Risk Legacy" was.

In the annals of time, I would say Pandemic Legacy season 1 will be considered an important game. It is very unlikely to be the best Legacy game. It's unlikely to be the best gateway legacy game. It probably won't even end up being the best season of Pandemic Legacy. But, it will be considered the game that turned legacy gaming mainstream.

It is incredibly seminal, and I expect it to change the gaming landscape, and I think this explains its number one ranking right now far more than the actual gameplay itself.

Perhaps, when there have been many legacy games, the rating of this game will fade over time, and Twilight Struggle may find itself again number one.

Having said that, I also think the concept that a legacy game cannot be number one is flawed - for example, I replayed February with no legacy implications this week. I just set up my board (based on my records) as though I were playing February, and replayed the scenario that the month served me. And it was fun. My guess is that designers of legacy games will turn their minds to how to both make the campaign feel important and keep a level of game replayability, and if that balance is met I think the key objections to why a legacy game could not be number 1 would fade away.

Question on August...
[o][/o]
I am completely lost on finding the three items the Immunologist needs (Gene Sequence, DNA Samples and Virus Development records). It appears that I have seen the Gene Sequence. How do I find the other two in order to check all three boxes? After I check all three boxes then I open box number 30. Correct?

(Looks like you've broken your spoiler tag a little, there. As a handy tip, I've tended to preview any reply that includes spoiler tags, to make sure the protection is right before I commit.)

Don't worry - your understanding is correct. You know what you have to do, if you're patient, it will become clear how to do it...

I think price does factor into the ratings. It's just most people rating think PL's price is fair for what it offers. I don't think people necessarily disagree with the notion, just the point at which it becomes not worthwhile.

I can imagine a version of Pandemic Legacy that was fully resettable with a somewhat randomised campaign, but cost $250. I don't think that game would be as high in the ratings, as people would be unhappy with the value. Kingdom Death Monster or Cthullu Wars could be the greatest games ever but wouldn't rate high enough because of the price. Time Stories is doing okay but the cost for a single play is putting a lot of people off in a way that Pandemic Legacy is not.

The first quarter of the year is gone. The reason why I am writing this anticipated list only now is because by now most publishers would already have more concrete plans on what games will be coming out and their publishing schedules, etc. The down side of writing this list at this time is that there are games that I have been anticipating are already published and available. However, being located in Asia, availability of games always lacks a couple of months anyway. Without further delay, here are the games that I am really looking forward to and so you might be interested to know as well.

You can (and should) edit your post to put the [/o] at the end of the text as above.

For your question, you don't have a way to find everything yet, but you will. Happy virus hunting!

The same as the first game that month.

Spoilers for start of September:
[o]When you go into September, your objectives are:
• Cure three diseases (mandatory)
• Quarantine 7 Faded cities
• Military base in all regions
• Any searches left over from earlier games
• Find the Paranoid Soldier

At the end of each game, you destroy any search objectives that you completed - they are no longer available in future games. And that applies whether the next game is the second game of the same month, or the first of a new one.

If you find the Paranoid Soldier:
[o]The objective of a Military base in each region is destroyed and replaced by the objective of sabotaging two military bases.

So in the game where you find him, you've met the "Find the Paranoid Soldier" objective. To win you have to cure three diseases and meet any one other objective.

If you find the Paranoid Soldier in your first September game, then in the second September game your objectives will therefore be:
• Cure three diseases (mandatory)
• Quarantine 7 Faded cities
• Sabotage 2 military bases
• Any searches left over from earlier games

If you've already completed all your previous searches, that means you have three objectives and need to complete three of them. Which doesn't give you much choice, but there we go. (-8[/o][/o]

When people start playing Season One, they don't know there will be new roles during the Season, so your subject line is a spoiler. It would be good if you could edit it to "English version of French card needed (start of June spoiler)" or something like that.

Also, remember there are francophones on BGG. Swearing in French is no more appropriate than swearing in English.

(Incidentally, if you contact Z-Man they'll surely send you the correct card. In the meantime, Erik's summary should do fine. Whatever you don't go searching for an image of the English card - I've not seen a single one that doesn't contain one spoiler or another!)

So, as it has been delivered to the publisher; does anyone know the ETA to retailers? Some are taking PreOrders now (April 27, 2016).
