That is not how the game is played.
When you're playing a game that is known to change the rules on you, it is suggested you follow the rules as laid out. Else you won't know what to do when the rules modify what you weren't doing in the first place.
Each player chooses a faction, in turn, at the start of each game. Until the gamerules tells you otherwise. Do not enter the campaign assuming you will always be able to get the same faction in game N+1 as you got in game N. The rules offer no such guarantee.
