Re: warped tiles. I e-mailed Wizards and they sent me a replacement set which were not warped.
As for the pointers, put some scotch tape on the edges of the character cards. It will prevent the pointers from sliding around (I got this tip from some other user here on the Geek and it works quite well).
But this is a flawed game. There's just no way to know if it will be fun and competitive, or end in dull anticlimax.
That said, I still think it's decent.
