I played this game first the way it was supposed to be played (as in destroy what you are supposed to destroy) and really enjoyed it. Then I bought a 2nd copy and made it replayable (as in I found ways to make sure I didn't have to destroy any part of the game) and I enjoyed playing it that way as well.There's three ways you can look at it:
1) You play the game and destroy things as you go, meaning you will only get 12 to 24 plays out of it.
2) Before you start playing the game, you are able to play it as regular Pandemic. If you like, you can play the game normally but avoid destroying certain parts of it (like anything that you used in the regular game of Pandemic). Once you have finished playing Pandemic Legacy, you will still be able to use this as regular Pandemic.
3) You go to https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/125892/pandemic-legacy-re... and make it so you can replay the Legacy aspect of the game. You'll need to get some extra stuff to make it work and you may end up seeing a minor spoiler or two there.
Pick the option that appeals the most to you.
