1) Yes. Play one and see how comfortable you are. Play as many games as it takes to get reasonably comfortable with the game.
2, 3) I don't know these ones
4) I didn't print anything out, but did keep track of what city cards had passed on scrap paper. That was invaluable.
5) We played two games a session until things started to get much more complicated. After that we only played one game per session. I think you'll know whether to start a second game based on how much energy folks have.
