"With only a slight churning to mark its rise to the surface, the thing slid into view above the dark waters. Vast, Polyphemus-like, and loathsome, it darted like a stupendous monster of nightmares to the monolith, about which it flung its gigantic scaly arms, the while it bowed its hideous head and gave vent to certain measured sounds." -- Dagon

And that's about it. Most of HPL's mythos monsters have minimal descriptions. It wasn't until the Call of Cthulhu RPG, around the 1970's, did "classical" illustrations of mythos creatures become canon. (The 3rd edition didn't even have a silhouette, while the 5th edition shows the classical look.)

Father Dagon and Mother Hydra are essentially overgrown Deep Ones. So, since the Call of Cthulhu RPG, looked sorta like this. This model is from the RAFM miniatures line, the only line of "official" CoC RPG miniatures.

Fantasy Flight Games went with a classical look.

Reaper Miniatures also went classical. However, what you're not seeing here is that the miniature is a *foot* long.

CMON's, and, to some extent, Cthulhu War's, approach is to do something different, not that's what you or I may be particularly looking for. Cthulhu Wars was created by Sandy Peterson, who *designed* the original CoC RPG. However, his Cthulhu Wars used Fenris Games as sculptors, and here's their sea-lion take on Father Dagon.
