Again, depends. If I'd played 14 games with a group thinking we were using these rules, then on the last game they tipped everything around, I'd certainly be wary of playing there again - I'd be scared of the same thing happening and of wasting more time. Maybe there is a small part of him wondering if you all had had this plan right from Game 1 and just hadn't told him.
Ultimately, its hard to tell from what we know here. I can see both your side, and his.
