What you could do, if it just seems too easy, is picking the last (and, if you want one but last) character at random at the start of your next game. So, if you play with 4, you select 2 (3) that you want to play with and pick the last ones at random (or take civilians for those).Has nothing to do with possibly not-earned positive mutations, but it makes it certainly harder.
