It would seem pretty straight forward from the rule book, however my friends and I would still like others opinion since we are very new to the game.
After the haunt is revealed you may attack others. If I’m very low in «health» and would not make it through another fight, can I then go into a room with a fellow hero, so when I’m attacked by either a monster or the traitor we both defend against the attack? Say, if the monster entered our room tile and attacked me, could both me and the other hero throw dice to try to get a higher score against the monster?
Example: I can throw 2 dice in might against the monsters 4 dice. My friend can throw 5 dice of might, which totals 7 dice from heroes against 4 dice from monster? It would make sense since we are two against one, but the rules never say anything about a scenario like this, thus making me think all fight scenarios is allways one-on-one.
The way we ended up doind it was one-on-one with me against the monster first, killing me (monsters move).

Combats are just one-on-one. The only way multiple figures impede an opposing figure is by hindering it's movement. Barring, of course, some Haunt specific rules that may have some other form of combat, but those would be explained in those Haunts.

Also, little side question. If I have the spear which gives two extra dice of damage when attacking, can it also be used in defence? This goes for all items and weapon omens. Can an item be used for both attacking and defending or just for one of them if it doesn’t mention the other?
Omen card - Spear - Weapon: «A weapon pulsing with power. You roll 2 additional dice (max of 8 dice) when making a might attack with this weapon. You can’t use another weapon while you’re using this one». This indicates attacking only, correct? You are still technically attacking in a defending position, but it’s still defending, not attacking.

No, when you make an attack, you are the attacker, not a defender. You only get to use dice from these weapons when you are attacking. I feel it is an important element, as it gives a chance for weaker characters to have a chance in combat, as they can attack a better armed opponent and reduce the imbalance somewhat. Plus, remember if you beat the opponent by two or more pips, you can steal an item from them, possibly reducing their attack value on their turn.
