As I see it, there is a patch of land ("Cerdeña" or "Sardinia" island, Italy) which blocks the path from the Haven to Cairo.
Also, the channels above and below Sardinia are blocked by the sea lanes going to Tripoli and Istanbul, because you can't draw lines over them.
The fact that the sea lanes going in Cairo are very near each other reinforces the idea that no line can be drawn between them.
Anyway, I think many people will draw the lane anyway, because it's not so obvious at first sight.
Ah yes, you're right. For some reason I thought Sardinia was part of the Haven, but the havens are supposed to be at sea, so it can't be. Definitely can't connect Cairo to the haven.
