The only recon option right now is out of Kolkata. We haven’t revealed how that’s supposed to be done, yet.

[o]Did you accomplish the goal of building radio yet? I have to assume yes, since you feel like it's not possible to complete enough goals in your game. It was supposed to unlock something for you.[/o]

We lost early-July by one player turn. Pushing for that win connected the last of the cities to the grid, eliminating the "connect new cities" objective card from possibility. We completed the Triangulate objective in that loss so it's no longer available. Recon out of Kolkata is still hidden. That made late-July an auto-loss (and our fourth loss in a row). We spent that late-July game just building supply lines and shipping lines and trying to keep the green cubes confined to as few cities as we could.
We'll be starting August if we pick the game back up again.
We were so disheartened at the prospect of not having any way to win either game in August without a new objective, even though we were done playing for the night we ran through the Legacy deck for early August to see if maybe a new objective would come out. Nope. But we do know we'll be getting the Monitor action. While handy for possibly avoiding epidemics, it doesn't seem to offer any way to allow us to complete any objectives. A quick scan deeper into the Legacy deck and we see there's a new objective card coming in September (though we didn't read it), but it's still looking like two more auto-losses before we even have a chance of winning.
If the designers were hoping to really engender a sense of hopelessness for us in our efforts to save the world, they succeeded with flying colors. :)
