Oh, and for us, a major late-game twist fell flat. In December, [o]we had to sacrifice a character. Which should have been impactful... but of the three characters we had played leading up to it, nobody had a draw-from-the-discard ability, which we thought was all but necessary to complete the journey. So we pulled out the Sanitation worker, who we had never played and had never planned to play, for one game (second half of December) and he was the sacrifice. We had no real emotional attachment to him - he had no upgrades, had never participated in anything else, so there was no sense of real hardship there for us. He was basically a redshirt, like one of those characters that shows up in episode 12 of a tv show just to immediately sacrifice themselves for the main characters. [/o]↧
