I was part of bluesheeps play group, so here some more thoughts:It appears to me that many game elements are only useful when a lot goes south during the campaign (road blocks,some characters,subventions). In any other cases there are more efficent ways (eg quarantine,preemptive desease cube remove) to control the board. So a lot of material can be ignored or even worse, use of that material is disadvantageous compared to standard moves.
My suggestion would be to incorporate new material into the game and story itself (instead of beeing only useful for groups with bad play/bad luck):
*) More variety in the mission goals. For example, when CodA first appears one mission goal could be "Block Roads to City Zero" instead of always having "Cure 3 deseases". (-> story incorporated use of road blocks)
*) Special Side Quest which can only be done by specific characters which gives the story more flavour (-> motivates to use new characters)
Furthermore, there where some combos that were very strong, almost felt like cheating, which discouraged switching characters (eg "Soldier" with "Compete" relation). Or one character beeing for a mission goal to strong (eg the "builder" -> build military base and instantly blow it up with C4 card upgrade).
All in all, I think the developers did a great jog. Making something new, I think there were mainly busy developing good working basics, so I am already very curiuos about season 2!
