Having finished both games, I see a lot of Seafall in Pandemic Legacy Season 2 (S2). Perhaps Rob Daviau was able to polish some of the ideas of Seafall by marrying them with Matt Leacock’s solid design base. Here are some elements that cross over.

Theme of discovery:
Both Seafall and S2 have a large focus on exploring the world and investigating a mystery. Adding new locations to the world is present in both games.

Early Recon spoilers for S2:
[o]IMO, Search results are a bit more interesting than the more random and generic Captain’s Booke entries. The sheer number of Captain’s Booke entries made that a lot more difficult to write. [/O]
Pick up and deliver:
The cube moving feels like a marriage of regular Pandemic and Seafall.

Character customization:
Portrait selection allows for further character personalization in both games.

Seafall prologue spoiler:
[O]Luckily you don’t have to destroy your starting character after the first game in S2![/O]
End game (spoilers for both games):
[O]Both games end with opening up a place that is “hell on earth” with occupants bent on world destruction. Seafall’s hell is a bit more literal.
[/o]
Overall, I was impressed with ambition of Seafall, despite its mediocre game play. Pandemic Legacy Season 2 borrows from Seafall’s themes and design to create a more compelling experience.
