Didn't read any of the spoilers, coz I haven't even started my campaign yet, (Hopefully on the 12th!) but it disturbs me that the ending is so vague...

Can we PLEASE have an official ruling/FAQ on this JR or Rob? (in spoiler box of course) What is the end game actually supposed to look like? What is the actual trigger for reading the above mentioned entries?

Thanks

There has been. I'll try to summarize, trying to keep spoilers to the minimum and compartmented as best I can (but read at your own risk):
(Box 5++ spoilers)
[o]First of all, much of the information below is gated by information gathered from interrogation.

Regarding hidden information:
[o]There are multiple forms of hidden information, and you need to gain access to several of them before progressing.[/o]
Regarding certain hidden symbols:
[o]There are hidden symbols on the map. They are meaningless until you find a way to decrypt them. In order to decrypt them, you need to
[o]find something in the game that tells you "symbol = number".[/o]
As an additional note on the above decryption, Rob has clarified that
[o]the intention was that you must have the "decryption key" in your possession to make use of the information. He has also said that a perfectly valid alternative interpretation is that you need to have possessed the key at some point.

Example: my campaign plays by this alternate rule. Once we have found a "decryption key", we mark the key with a pen of our faction's color. A player can make use of any key he's marked, regardless of who owns the key.[/o]
Once you have decrypted a symbol, the rules indicate how to use them, but in a way that is easy to overlook. Specifically, the rules say that
[o]When exploring a tomb, you may choose ANY ENTRY ON THE MAP. In case that's not clear enough:
[o]Any three digit number is an "entry", even if you have to decrypt it to do so. However, you must have access to the decrypt key (see above); you aren't allowed to "guess" on the decryption.[/o][/o][/o]
Regarding the "secrets of statues" milestones:
[o]Don't look for hidden meanings in this. There is text that states something along the lines of "You have discovered the secret of the X statue." If you haven't seen that text, then you need to keep looking. Discovering the secret requires you to
[o]make use of the hidden information on the map.[/o][/o]
Regarding the "chart to the end of the world":
[o]The inset for the last column has a symbol saying you need a chart with that symbol to discover the island there. This is ambiguous, but less so than it seems. [o]When looking at hidden information, you may see that symbol, and something along the lines of "Chart +X". If you see something like that, then you have found such a chart, and can claim the milestone.[/o]
If you have found such a chart, you can use it as you would use a normal chart (like those in the research deck).[/o][/o]
