And unless you're willing to devote 8 hours to the task, you're not likely to every play. There are still people who think it's a good game. But I'm willing to go on record and say that nothing that takes that long can be any good to me.

So a friend bought Twillight Imperium a while ago.
Admittedly, we did not finish the first two games, due to us playing veeeeerrryyy slowly while learning the rules.
Since then, we have completed two games, and are now looking forward to trying the expansions.
There hasn't been any complaint about how long it takes. Everyone seems to agree that TI3 is time well spent...

Hopefully we should have an 8-player game going soon :)
