This haunt is *usually* a challenge for the heroes, but I've never seen the traitor win.

The heroes' strategy is to find (or choose, if they already have it) the weapon FAST, study it FAST, and then go out and kill Crimson Jack with it.

The traitor's strategy is to send Crimson Jack after the heroes as soon as possible, and attack them as many times as possible. That way, the heroes don't have a choice in the matter of battling him, and if Jack attacks one of the strongest heroes, Jack will probably lose. This causes Jack to die, and subsequently respawn stronger. Thus, the traitor wants to have Jack make as many suicide attacks as possible before the heroes get their weapon ready, so once they do, Jack will be too strong to take down easily.

In your case, the heroes were very much advantaged by the board setup. They already had the Spear, a fairly powerful weapon in almost any situation, and were near the room with the Blessing, which definitely makes studying it easier. The way you describe it, this room was also rather far away from the Entrance Hall, so Jack had an even harder time reaching them.

I know this thread is almost 2 years old, but I don't think extra insight ever hurts.
